The purpose of this thread is to record observations, activity and captures of Rutland’s Manton Bay nest throughout the season.
The nest at Manton Bay has been in use since 2007 and its history can be found here.
I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
I hope she is nearby watching that fish. Others would love it.
What happened to the fish ? Did she drop it.
Brenda ... I don't know!! I have just returned from walking Dee and see an empty nest!
I wonder if Maya has come back for it and taken it or perhaps Blue 25(10) has stolen it as I have seen another bird flying around in the bay this morning.
A mystery lol
Reading another site, Karen. They say an osprey/ buzzard took the fish away. They are not sure it was Maya, but she did return without a fish.
Thanks Brenda. Perhaps Scylla managed to get a recording - SCYLLA ???
Maya is hard at work and has been on/off the nest four or five times now and each time returning with moss or small twigs.
Just arrived with this stick
and now placing it! First here, then there lol
