Daily Update (LG Nest) Friday, April 23, 2010

Good evening/morning, all. Annette is enjoying her anniversary celebration, I hope, so I thought I'd give her a break and start this thread for her.

Hi Margobird - let's hope Odin can get some fishing in today ... but the rain must make it very difficult

Me too DjoanS she is calling again but the rain does sound less heavy now.  I feel for them both because not only is it wet but cold as well.  Fingers crossed a fish will come soon.

  • Well in about half an hour will have to log out (laptop) on dining table.  Fortunately will get a little time to have a peek tonight when OH does food shopping.  I am spoilt and never do main shop as he  enjoys it.  Prefers me not to go as he says I take too long but that is fine by me, more time for osprey watching.

  • Make your OH a big list, Margobird!   so that he'll be gone for a long time, and you can be on the webcam for longer....

I'm sure the birds will be ok, they are used to the weather and they have both been well fed up to today.

  • Lindybird this is the main shop so it will take a while and OH loves to browse.  I am sure EJ and Odin will be fine but it would be good if Odin could just catch a "biggy" so that they could share.  Perhaps I worry too much.

  • Hi everyone.

Thanks for all the updates, pictures etc.  Weather looks rotten at LG today.  I really hope things get warmer by the time the chicks hatch.  Feel sorry for Odin trying to fish in such awkward conditions.  Hope he's delivers a fish soon.  EJ looks drookit poor thing.  At least she's getting a free concert from the LG birds.

  • Hi Heron.   You're right, we've been listening to it for a while now.  Makes me want to go visit LG even more (I've never been, but hope to one day)

  • Morning all and Hallo to Lynette, who I haven't seen on this page before (but maybe it was late and I was half asleep). Thanks for posts and pix.   Alan: That photo of rain over Scotland looked suspiciously like a bird poop splatter!

Probably birds are less uncomfortable than we think since they have built-in wet-weather gear and can fluff up to feel warmer, whereas we have to pile on wellies and raincoats and walk around with brollies.  Also, wasn't it Barbara Jean who said that their meals are less frequent but much larger, volume to body weight, than ours, so not such a calamity if they don't get three meals a day?  Of course, one would be nice....

  • Hello - a rather dank and driech looking day today at LG And Lowes.  The 'boyfriend' at LOTL just brought  a fish and has taken over incubation duties.EJ sitting tight and quietly. Will read back now and see if we've had fish or not.Wouldn't be surprised if not in this weather.

All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.

  • Odin arrives minus fish again ... i think he fancied a turn at incubating but EJ wasn't budging!
