HAPPY NEW WEEK!
HAPPY NEW MOON on Monday!
HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR -- The Year of the Monkey -- on Monday!
Last week's Chat thread is here.
Everyone have a great week!
OG so sorry to hear you have a skin irritation. I do hope the nurse can help you.
OG pleased you can be seen and I am sure cream will be prescribed.
I developed rash after 4 weeks and nurses said doctor would prescribe. They could have done but I had avoided seeing him in that 4 weeks even though I should. So it was their form of blackmail. I still had 2,weeks to go so duly sat in a queue in a miserable corridor waiting to see him. My reasoning behind not seeing him was that all the people waiting to see him were far more in need than me.
DIBNLIB - it's just something which happens, especially to people with fair sensitive skin. I know I don't look fair, as I have brown eyes and had brown hair, but I inherited them from my mother and my skin from my father!
WENDY - I am so used to having skin problems, that I tried to ignore this, and really I shouldn't have done. Then the youngest radiographer in the team pointed it out to the senior, and she leapt into action with the hydrogel, which was silly when I only had one day to go, and, once radiotherapy stopped, there is far more choice of treatments. I was fine about the "sunburn" effect, but this is, sparing the details, more "anti-social" and very painful.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
I see there are a lot of power problems in SW England - I hope MARGO stays on supply!
Hello all extreme weather conditions here but touch wood no power problems here although the lights were very flickery last night. Chemo starts today and I am not looking forward to going out out. On a calm day it is like Windy City round Poole Hospital so i will have to be careful not to get blown away when I get out of the car.
OG hope you will get some help from the nurse somyou feel more comfortable.
Had a really enjoyable meal with the family Saturday evening but 2 nights out took a bit of a toll on me and I was a bit sleepyhead ysterday.
Take care all.
Margo x
Hi Margo. Not surprised you mentioned being somewhat tired, after such an exciting weekend. Hope you've had chance of a nap since, to help catch up.
Sounds as if you thoroughly enjoyed your family time. Sorry you have another session with the chemo: will be thinking of you {{HUGS}}
MARGO - so glad your power is okay, and I hope it will stay on for you. I hope it won't be a bad chemo week - but, as you say, you will need care to stay on your feet in the wind - let OH get out of the car first, to be there to steady you!
The nurse has applied a first treatment and given me an antibiotic cream, and already the raw area has stopped "screaming" at me - what a relief! Apart from tomorrow, I have an easy week at home so can avoid any clothing which would rub against it.
Been to visit sis-in-law this morning, and admire her new fencing. She is also having problems with her central heating boiler, so wanted my OH's advice.
I've also been writing out an advert for selling a record player deck we no longer need: I copied all our favourite records & L.P.s onto discs a while ago, and gave away the records. Just found a box of E.P.s, though (remember those?) which include several original Beatles songs!! Will try to sell those, too.
Good that you got some help with the soreness, OG - hope it continues to improve.
Oh, LINDA, you really have got the flinging bug - and nice if you can raise a bit of cash through unwanted items. I must admit I am a very ruthless flinger and won't usually let OH wait to sell things - when they go, they go, pronto!
