HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY NEW MONTH!

Last week's Chat thread is here.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Only 48 more days until the Spring Equinox!

  • Weather improved here, but it's still a grey sky. Came home to find my OH busy erecting the new fence, with Bonnie a couple of yards down, busy trying to tunnel underneath it, in the soft ground!  But there is a stone wall behind it ;-)

Had a pleasant lunch with Friend: she had a cheese salad and I had a toasted baguette with brie & bacon, plus salad and a few chips!  Friend helped me to eat the chips!

We then pottered around the shop - lots of corny gifts for Valentines there.... but we both bought birthday cards and Friend some reduced price Chr s. wrap. So not a big spend ;-)

  • LINDA - has OH noticed the extra toaster, or is it camouflaged by being the same colour?!  Bonnie sounds extremely determined that out is the way to go!  I ate far to much at our "celebratory lunch" at the OTB today - was persuaded to have soup and sandwich combo, and then tempted by a cinnamon scone!  And it's early dinner (nearly ready) for J to go out - can't complain as last night was early for us to go!  BTW the Scenic Scotland presentation was quite good - just one of the members, and all west coast; his wife actually takes the best photos, but he compiles the powerpoint and commentates on it.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Good that you found the Scotland evening entertaining, OG. I like seeing photos of scenery, whether professional or holiday snaps. See that like me, you had a filling lunch!  I've not eaten much tonight......

The toaster was shown to my OH for approval, and he liked the price!! LOL!! So it's going into our tiny attic for storage.

We are waiting to hear about a young relative, daughter of one of my OH's family, who is due to give birth any day in the next week. They don't know the sex of the babe, so I have a card ready with a yellow design :-)

  • Lynette - see that your cold is going, but that you have conjunctivitis: hope the drops do the trick.  Sorry about your OH having to have treatment on the ear. Sounds as if they'll be able to treat it easily enough, so hope he gets the fast treatment he needs.

  • Brenda - loved the pic of Ruby, having a snooze!

  • ps.  Was sad to hear that another whale has been found beached in Norfolk. It's still alive, but not expected to survive.

  • Hi, all.

Margo: I hope you're feeling better and you'll be able to attend your concert. Best to you!

OG: Congratulations on completing your treatment! Get some good rest now and recover your strength so you can plant your garden. Spring's coming!

  • Evening all:

OG: Glad they've timed your next Carlisle appointment to coordinate with pancakes at the OTB!

Lynette: Practically everyone here has had basal cell cancer; I get checked twice a year. Good luck getting back on track with the swimming.

Lindybird: Puttering around garden center plus lunch sounds like my kind of day out.  Your poor OH is having a time keeping Bonnie at home.

    Margo: Thinking of you!

    Have a good Friday everyone.

  • Good Morning.  Dull and grey here.  But not particularly cold. Spoke to some friends last night who are off to our holiday destination next week, and will still be there when we get there: we overlap by one week so will be able to gossip then. We met them there, over 15 years ago when we first went!

Got to find some time today to alter some curtains which I bought years ago for the study: we have blinds in there so it's not been urgent. I got the right size but they're too long.

  • Hope Margo is ready for her exciting concert this evening.
