Hi, all. I saw this photo on Facebook, and I thought I'd leave the link on here for the osprey folks. I'm not sure what to make of it. It's a public post. The photo was taken in Florida.
I enjoyed reading all of your birdwatch results. Glad to hear about the birds of prey (sparrowhawks, buzzards, and kestrels).
Paul: Nice to see you.
Hope the new winter storm (Henry) will be kind to everyone, especially to OG who must travel.
It was very weirdly warm here this weekend. 61 F or 16.1 C !!! Not normal at all for this time of year. Have a good week, everyone.
Evening all: Wonderful rain today and very strong winds tonight. OH and I were sitting in the living room and heard the familiar scratching of claws at the window, but Lightning - the usual suspect - was busy snoozing in the corner. OH wasn't pleased, but I put out some food which it pretty much ignored. Then we realized it must be the stray black cat that next door adopted and that it was likely freaked out by the wind. At least it wasn't hungry.
Congrats all in the UK who participated in the bird watch!
Lynette: Sorry to hear that cold is still going strong, but good you're getting the eyes checked out.
dinblib: Good good: eyes today, teeth tomorrow plus Benson gets his hair done. :-) I had to Google Mazeno Ridge and Sandy Allan and found his book on Amazon. It sounds like a big accomplishment!
Diane: Osprey-on-hat photo a rare one indeed. How are you feeling?
Have a good Monday everyone.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
That is going to take some beating!
Birdies LG DU update.
Good Morning, All. Amazing photo, Diane!!
ANNETTE/BRENDA Sandy was married to the friend who lives in Fochabers and who we met at Brodie recently. He has nothing planned for the immediate future, but who knows.
WENDY how sad about the Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.
ANNETTE We dropped Benson off at the groomers at 1200 and OH has gone to pick him up now. I get my hair cut tomorrow at 0900, then sadly I am going to church to help with food preps for a 1245 funeral. Not sure when he moved up here, but the church has really become his family, though he has a sister and nephew who will be attending. Malcolm had a real love of Scotland and mostly wore all manor of kilts and tartans, and a few years ago changed his name from Malcolm to Callum.
Lots on radio about the lovely Terry Wogan today. OH came across him in the late 80s when we lived in Bucks. OH was leaving the clubhouse of Temple golf course near Henley. TW and Michael Parkinson were just going in. They exchanged the time of day and TW and MP asked how OHs game had gone. I thought at the time that this was nice of them as I am sure many well known people would not have bothered. They had excerpts of 'Janet and John" on radio this morning with Terry trying in vain to stifle his laughter, so very funny.
We went to Eden Court this morning to try and get tickets for The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac tribute bands. We got 2 for The Eagles in 2 weeks but not FM and the waiting list is full as well. That will teach us to act immediately next time.
Hello all
Thank you for your news, can't make individual replies but have enjoyed reading.
Presently attempting to follow hospital guidelines to 'rest'. What a pain, had an episode of positional vertigo ( was diagnosed a number of years ago). In utility room which is small. Reaching up and down, turning around too fast a few times= spin and fall, hit back of head on door jamb, long cut, now sealed with glue :-(( What a plonker, my own fault entirely.
Keep posting ,guys, you are my main entertainment for 48 hours!!
Take care all ( pot-kettle-black)
So sorry, Heather to read of your 'mishap'. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to have affected your mental abilities at all. I just love your 'turn of phrase' Always very eloquent! I hope you didn't lose too much of the red stuff.
'Resting', yes, not easy at all. At least it means housework is not on the agenda!
I have rather lost the plot here myself. Various 'things' going on, but am enjoying all the bird and flower pics and posts.
HEATHER sorry to hear you have been in the wars. Look after yourself.
