HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat Thread is here.
I posted a long list of replies at the end of last week's thread.
Saturday night in the U.S. and Sunday morning in the U.K. is the New Moon (the dark moon) -- the first one of 2016. See here for a list of monthly astronomical events for this year.
Wow, is it dreary here! So I'm inserting a colourful flower for this week's pic. :-) Everyone have a wonderful week.

P.S. Matthew is always a smiley baby, but has now developed a giggle which reminds me of the old Woody the Woodpecker cartoon character!!! :-D
Blimey, I remember Woody Woodpecker. That's some laugh!
When Helen was a newborn she had a dear little cry which reminded me of Larry the Lamb. It didn't last long!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Blimey what a memory you are stirred Clare...
My parents let a shop to the son of the author of Larry the Lamb...

Larry the Lamb - played by Uncle Mac - aka Derek McCullough, I think!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG love a bit of memory lane...
We all sat and listened at lunch time..
Then hid under a cushion for Quatermass etc ..
I hid behind an entire sofa for Jaws!!
Hello all, not been on all week but still around. We are lucky down here, just rain and now frosty mornings with some sunshine - more like the temps. should be.
Just reading this last page and notice OG mentioning Uncle Mac -Derek McCulloch, happy memories listening to "Children's Favourites" on a Sat. morning. Do any of you remember the Chrildrens Newspaper based on Arthur Mees encyclopedia, use to get that regularly as a young girl.
Not a lot been happening to me but do hope that Margo, OG, and anyone else who are not in good health are feeling a little better.

Just climbing into bed, and a few minutes ago we hauled ourselves out of our chairs and looked out of the window......it's been snowing for half an hour or so, but of course we couldn't hear it!! Neatly white at the moment, but it may all be gone by morning as it's only supposed to be touching freezing tonight.
Hope it's not too bad in other places, as when it decides to snow here, it's usually pretty heavy elsewhere.
I remember Arthur Mee Encyclopedias, we had a set of them. In fact, I think I've still got them in the loft as I hated parting with them, and the man in The Bookshop said they were worth nothing because "Everybody had them".
Never had a children's newspaper, though, just The Beano and The Girl comic.
