Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey), 10 January 2016

HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's Chat Thread is here.

I posted a long list of replies at the end of last week's thread.

Saturday night in the U.S. and Sunday morning in the U.K. is the New Moon (the dark moon) -- the first one of 2016. See here for a list of monthly astronomical events for this year.

Wow, is it dreary here! So I'm inserting a colourful flower for this week's pic. :-) Everyone have a wonderful week.

  • I'm off out - have a good day, All.

  • Have a nice day, Lindy.  Sorry about your post.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Hope you are having a good day, LINDY.

OG- ditto. Resting up and no further 'turns' I trust?

DIANE/ANNETTE- Thank you, DIANE for the link about heated throws. I got quite excited (need to get out more, lol) and guess what, OH said he wasn't old enough to be wrapped up!! I may still buy one though, they appeal to me.

Re Sheana's journals, it can't do any harm to take them into our local library. If they don't want them then at least I wasn't the one to throw them away. If you know what I mean.

I keep getting signed out here but that may be my own fault for clearing history every day, on this Kindle Fire. My sister in law had to phone Amazon this week, her Kindle Fire didn't like the internet browser upgrade and she kept losing stuff. I've been lucky, no problems so far.

AQ- It really does seem as if Nanny days are getting better! Are the twins sleeping better at night these days?

  • Hi, Heather.  That sounds like a good idea to take Sheana's journals to a library.  I hope they find a good home.

I've just been for a quick trip to Felixstowe Ferry with my camera and I have come to the conclusion that my in-flight shots are improving!  Click on this lovely gull to have a look:

  • Please forgive lack of replies - have just glanced at posts today and yesterday.  Went to bed 8:30 last night.  Feeling fine today; passing the time making birthday cards.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Nothing to forgive, OG.  I'm so pleased you had a better night!

  • Glad you are feeling OK, OG.

  • Total three centimetres of snow this afternoon - J safe home from shopping Dumfries, but declares he won't be going to church there tomorrow morning!  Doubt we shall venture out tomorrow either!

  • OG pleased you are feeling more rested...

    Yesterday's snow still lingering...

Lovely sunny but chilly walk with Daisy by the river with temp minus 4..

An improvement as minus 5 on Thursday.

The icicles clinging to the water plants looked like tear drops and made up for frozen fingers.

  • Back home after a long but pleasant day. Enjoyed our family visit, and took them out for a carvery lunch, which young Matthew slept right through! Good journeys both there and back, although it was trying to snow tonight as we left Birmingham.

OG -Glad you had a good night and have rested today.

Sounds like a very cold walk, Wendy!
