NEWS FROM OTHER NESTS 2016

Lots of action at Dunedin today

Webcam

  •  Mary there are  2 ospreys on the Tweed Valley nest  the one on the nest is eating a fish.  Too far away really for me to know if either of these are ones I have seen before.

  • Starling they are still on the nest now, and this is as close a capture as I can get.

The female looks like she has a Blue Darvic on left Leg.     I wonder if it is one of their own chicks from previous years.

  • Good news re Tweed Valley. They need to put up a new blog asap.

  • Mary I posted some screen shots of an osprey with a blue ring on Sunday. The cam was zoomed right in but I couldn't make out the ring number.  The cam was still on at 6pm so I was hoping for they would say who it was, but I've not seen or heard a thing.

  • I wish they would zoom the camera in again Starling, more to see if it is White SS who has returned.

I have been checking to see if any blogs have been posted but cannot find anything so far.

Your posts of the blue ringed bird are probably the best view of the birds ring, but still too far to make anything out.

  • I think the male on the nest now is White SS.    The resolution gets lost when you try to enlarge, but I got a screenshot that looked like there was a White Ring on the right leg.

It is impossible to read the ring number, but it certainly looks like a white ring on his right leg.   Or am I seeing things LOL....
