Lots of action at Dunedin today
Webcam
Aberfoyle at the moment. Just as I got the cam up there were 2 ospreys on the nest, but one flew off so I only got the one capture of it.

Hello all. Beautiful captures! Thankyou all for them. Another nest it seems with a lot of straw bedding! Must be this vyears "must have" :)
Starling I think that is the same female that I captured the other day too. So unless Katrine has lost her darvic, this is another female.
They both don't seem bonded yet so we will have to wait and see "what happens next"
By the way I seen an osprey on the Tweed Valley webcam on Monday afternoon, had its back to webcam again so no way of knowing if ringed or not, but much like the one that we have seen there before.

Thanks Karen, White 14 is going to go into the history books with all his galavanting. Hope he stays safe and makes it home to the LD again.
Mary there are 2 ospreys on the Tweed Valley nest the one on the nest is eating a fish. Too far away really for me to know if either of these are ones I have seen before.

Starling they are still on the nest now, and this is as close a capture as I can get.
The female looks like she has a Blue Darvic on left Leg. I wonder if it is one of their own chicks from previous years.

Good news re Tweed Valley. They need to put up a new blog asap.
Mary I posted some screen shots of an osprey with a blue ring on Sunday. The cam was zoomed right in but I couldn't make out the ring number. The cam was still on at 6pm so I was hoping for they would say who it was, but I've not seen or heard a thing.
I wish they would zoom the camera in again Starling, more to see if it is White SS who has returned.
I have been checking to see if any blogs have been posted but cannot find anything so far.
Your posts of the blue ringed bird are probably the best view of the birds ring, but still too far to make anything out.
I think the male on the nest now is White SS. The resolution gets lost when you try to enlarge, but I got a screenshot that looked like there was a White Ring on the right leg.
It is impossible to read the ring number, but it certainly looks like a white ring on his right leg. Or am I seeing things LOL....
