Lots of action at Dunedin today

Thanks Mary. So Diane is still in place, that's good to know :-)
I too hope it is white SS - will look in on the cam later.
Tweed Valley - quick check and no birds around :-(
Aberfoyle - both birds on the nest just now

I have been watching this pair off and on for the last hour. The female has hardly moved, I am not sure if the male is Drunkie, but the female looks unringed. There doesn't seem to be any interaction between them, and when he tried to mate she shrugged him off. Also she looks to have a fish in her talons but hasn't made any attempt to eat any of it.
Some captures to try and convey the scene, plus a few at her legs when she did move which clearly show she is unringed. We know the resident Female Green 11 was not the bird seen earlier, as it was a Blue Ringed female that was on the nest on the 3rd.
First screen shot taken at 11.18 am
Now to 11.55 am
He tries to mate and she shrugs him off.
Some shots showing her legs.

She has decided to eat her fish now, she has had it long enough. Whether the male brought it in I don't know as I didn't see any delivery.
Thanks Mary for all your observations. When I looked in I did think they looked a bit stand offish with each other! I wonder who they are?
Didn't Drunkie have two nests on the go at one time? This other female, Arklet I think was her name - do you know anything about her?
Karen I notice on their Facebook Update they didn't confirm that it was Drunkie who had returned, they just said "possibly".
I did visit The Lodge last October, and found out from one of the volunteers (rather reluctantly) the ring number(s).
Note I say numbers :-) as there was only one chick on this nest last year, but as Aberfoyle do not like to give out this type of information, I appreciate their decision so I wouldn't like to go against that decision. By the way there was no mention of the female called Arklet :-)
I asked Caerlaverock whether there was any news, and this was their response this morning
There have been no osprey sightings on the nest yet this year but we will put any news on Facebook as soon as an osprey returns!

Karen - I tried both Tweed Valley and Aberfoyle cams just after 5 pm tonight and both were not coming up, so I am thinking maybe they are only going to transmit to a certain time in the day. Will have to try and note if they switch of at a certain time.
Mary - I tried TV not long after 4.00pm and it was down. I do believe they are weather dependent!
And about the bird I captured there yesterday ... I have been looking in on TV throughout the day and have seen nothing! Of course I can't be sure but I think it is unlikely the bird I captured yesterday was one of the residents and probably a passer by.
Thanks Mary for the update on Aberfoyle. So chicks :-))))))
I wonder whatever happened to Arklet ... she was around I think a couple of seasons ago and there was some battling between her and katrine. Shame we lose touch with them :-(
