HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat thread is HERE.
Saturday evening was perihelion, the time when Earth reaches its closest point to the Sun for this year. Hello, Sun!
I hope everyone has a wonderful first full week of 2016!

I am so pleased, Heather. Well done to your daughters too. I am sure you need to relax now. X
Loft finished - back to finishing bathroom painting now that J will be out of the way back at work!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Wow OG, you certainly have all been on a marathon 'clear out'. Isn't it tomorrow that you have to go to the hospital ?
Dazzling thunderstorm here this morning - knocked out our power for a huge 30 seconds. :-) Seriously, buckets and buckets of rain - could hardly see across the road at one point. Now thunder approaching again. Radar (and lightning) maps are helpful in planning a time to zip out to gym, grocery store, library, etc.
Brenda: Good luck with the demolition. Never heard of wheel washing machines...I obviously need to get out more, if only to construction sites. :-)
Margo: Always good to see a post from you. Huge fat hugs to you.
dibnlib: Very good pool showing. I'm impressed. Don't feel daft, we still have some stuff in our garage from daughter's previous dog - seems sad to see it in a box. :-( Still, some other dogs will benefit from your donation. Love the "beautiful" shot; not sure about adverts on a bridge. Wonder where that was? It definitely takes away from the architectural lines of the bridge.
Heather: Oh bravo to you and daughters! I bet your well deserved halos are glowing warmly.
OG: Congrats re the loft. You guys are keeping really busy.
I was up at daughter's yesterday, but place is spotless so didn't do much. Was heading home (after a detour at my favorite discount store) when OH called to ask if I'd like to go out to dinner. So there I am, my hair is a fright - and my hairdresser had just called to reschedule this week's appointment; I'm wearing my faded gym pants with sloppy flannel shirt and, on top of that, I have the remains of a burst blood vessel in my left eye so I look like something from a horror movie - and I haven't showered in don't ask how many days! (Two if you must know.) But hey, how often does my OH come up with a spontaneous dinner out suggestion? So I rushed in the front door, threw on clean clothes and managed to look respectable enough to be allowed in the restaurant's doors. Felt much better after being waited on.
Must make a dash out; back later...
OG so love a clear out...
Heather so pleased all went well ...
Restocking freezer with home made ready meals as being I veggie I have to do meat and himself hates shop bought stuff...
Dibnlib I have just filled my boot ready to go to Munlochy animal rescue on the Black Isle. Towels and throws nearly new toys and a bag of new toys and never used leads which they will sell for funds. Daisy is far too spoiled by her non resident Mum .
Heather - Good to hear that all went as you (and no doubt, Sheana) hoped. You must have a good sense of satisfaction now it's all done. Well done to your daughters, too!!
Dibnlib : Congrats on keeping up with your swimming. It always sounds like an awful lot of lengths to me! We gave away everything whenever we lost a loved pet, but usually kept their collar tags as a memento. (Both dogs & cats)
BRENDA - yes, first of fifteen tomorrow. All at around noon, so avoiding rush hour or early-morning ice!
ANNETTE - so pleased about rain, but hope storms will not endanger lives. Take care. Of course, the rain is probably too heavy to be a great relief to drought situation - really needs a sustained moderate rain to reduce wastage, but I am sure everyone will feel better! Spontaneous dinner out sounds good!
WENDY - you are well organised to stock the freezer like that, and animal rescue will be well-pleased with your clear-out!
Annette - Hope your garden enjoys all that rain!! How nice to get a sudden invitation to eat out....but you must have been cussing as you changed your clothes ;-))
OG - You will have a good feeling having started the year on such a good clear out!!
OG - see you came on whilst I was writing - I've been absorbed in Dr M Mosleys programme on health & fitness, plus just now the Attenborough one has just started. No hope of catching up on the many programmes we recorded over the festivities!!
Went to see sis-in-law this morning, taking her some surplus Christmas lights (outdoor) as she was complaining that she needed some to brighten up their road! As we have reorganised ours in the last two years, we were only too glad to find a home for our unused ones. I also offered her the shoes I wore at our recent family wedding, as they creased me after a couple of hours, so as much as I loved them, I didn't feel I would ever wear them again. She is going to give them to her d.in law, though :-)
OG take care whatever the weather throws at you..
You will be in and out of the zapping machine in the blink of an eye..
I did a 100 mile round trip for 6 weeks to be in for just a few mins. worth every second though.
