HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat thread is here. Be sure to check the end of last week's thread for several new posts and a lovely photo from Limpy.
The Full Moon is Wednesday! Everyone have a wonderful week!
I'm in the middle of cooking dinner, and we are expecting little puppy to arrive in half an hour.....
Great that the tiler has made a good start, OG, and hope you enjoy yourselves tonight: wish I were going!
Brenda: Thanks for news of dear Margo. Hope she gets her meal out.
Morning all and thank you for Thanksgiving wishes.
OG: Hurray for tiler! Lightning still limping a bit, but hard to know since she's still snoozing more than usual. Hope the show is good.
Heather: Maybe your bro is looking forward to some time to himself on the train - a sort of transitional contemplative stage.
Lindybird: I swear Tomasz just had a birthday and am scared to ask how old he is!
Brenda: Great that Margo's floors are almost done and pleased to hear her spirits are up and that she's planning a meal out.
Having a light lunch and puttering before earlyish dinner. Sunny and cool here.
I should have mentioned that Margo's meal out, will be to celebrate her, much loved, OH's birthday.
Happy Thanksgiving, ANNETTE! I hope that DIANE is enjoying her time with family.
Regarding flights, some charter airlines offer extra leg room seats. Also some carriers which charge a little more have better seat pitch than the airline we used.
Yes, perhaps my brother needs/wants some time alone! When he arrives here, he'll be busy. Not just seeing family - he is our favourite electrician and always finds/wants something to do. Last time he came,he fixed up security lights outside our garage.
BRENDA- good to hear that MARGO is feeling OK and planning a birthday meal with her OH.
Hope everyone is OK, thank you for today's posts -
Heather – Is your brother one of those people who just love train journeys and manage to include one or more in their holidays?
{{{HUGS}}} to Margo and thanks to Brenda for the contact.
Linda – Some of us have g-chn, some of us have puppies LOL.
Happy Thanksgiving Annette.
OG – It will be so quiet when the workmen finally leave!
Hello to Everyone I haven’t replied.
Bushfire still burning, contained, not yet controlled. Believed Not deliberately lit. Some roads & areas still closed. According to maps on internet the home where I grew up is on the northern boundary of the burnt area. I couldn’t do anything if I knew but I want to know the farm escaped. Another nanny day ahead. Yesterday after delish choc cake & coffee (didn’t need any lunch), Friend & I explored a wee park, a former cemetery with few old headstones. Pieces of broken headstones had been set into concrete which had the appearance of a boulder. Vandals will have trouble smashing them now.
Annette - Tomasz will be 5 years old. In my kitchen, I still have his baby photos on display, it only seems like a couple of years ago. He is now settling into school life, and looking forward to being A Camel in the Christmas play (which is not a Nativity play, apparently).
AQ - Tonights puppy visitor has now gone home. She was delightful, and of course Bonnie got overexcited at having a new playmate. Also slightly jealous to see her Dad having Another on his knee! They ran around together and I think will be good pals when Jess grows up a little. In the end, we had to put Bonnie in her crate so that everyone calmed down. Glad you had a good outing, including choc cake..... Sorry there are still bushfires around. I know how you feel when you mention caring about what happens to where you grew up.

Evening all: Lovely visit and dinner with grandson., who has grown into a thoroughly engaging and thoughtful young man. He bought two bottles of wine (we are now drowning in bottles of wine thanks to his job!). He practically inhaled his steak, etc., and took a "care" package of leftovers to his girlfriend's Mom's house to snack on during their vegan dinner. Nobody had room for dessert (pecan pie and/or pumpkin pie) but this year I have a third option: I saw Sticky Toffee Pudding at Whole Foods the other day and, after hearing folks on here talk about it, decided to buy one (a small one-serving container). Am really looking forward to trying it with whipped cream and/or ice cream. Stay tuned!
Lindybird: Well, it was very sweet of the family to welcome the cousin so generously. I'm sure she has wonderful memories thanks to you and yours. Ah, now I remember talk of Tomasz turning 5, so maybe that was just a few weeks ago - phew! - thought time was going faster than it really is! Two puppies sounds four times more exciting than just one Bonnie. :-)
Brenda: Margo's OH sounds like a wonderful person. Please pass on our birthday wishes to him when you get a chance.
OG: Lightning ventured out into the garden a couple of times today. She still fights the painkilling drops, but no issues getting the antibiotics down, which is probably more important.
AQ: Do hope your childhood home escaped the fires; when will you get a chance to find out? In spite of loss of life and property, it's always something of a relief to hear that a wildfire wasn't deliberately set.
Limpy: Brilliant shot you managed to get there!
Hmmm, Lightning has just come rushing into the room, faster than I've seen in a while and obviously with something on her mind. I suspect it's time for her evening snack and antibiotic!
Take care all.
Hilarious time last evening, laughed until I cried! Came out of Sands Centre at 10:30 - but all slept well and got up on time this morning. Back later.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good Morning, All. Slept in this morning after a late night last night. Dry outside today, hooray!
Annette: You will love that pudding! It's hugely popular here now, and on offer in most restaurants and pubs. A nice alternative to chocolate. Glad Lightning is moving fast, hope she's recovering.
OG: Sounds as if you had a super time!
