Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey), 20 September 2015

HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY AUTUMNAL EQUINOX!

The equinox is Wednesday, 23 September. Info HERE.

Last week's chat thread is HERE.

The nights are starting to turn cool in Indiana, and the leaves are just hinting at turning colors.

Everyone have a great week!

  • Nanny day again <sigh> I have posted this morn some pics of canola seen on our last bus trip, plus 2 pics from years ago.

  • Another day without catching up!  Came home from daughter's to find OH had vacuumed and dusted most of the house - hurray! I got so excited I ended up washing sheets, towels, etc..  Place is 75% acceptable now - which works for me!  Daughter got some stitches out today; the rest probably next week.

Have good intentions to catch up tomorrow!

  • Hi, all. I'll try to catch up tonight or tomorrow. I'll start the new thread on Saturday, because I know Annette has been so busy with a lot of demands on her.

In the meantime, I'll leave this link. It's a lovely new high definition Hummingbird feeder webcam from Cornell Lab. The cam is located at an avian research site in the Davis Mountains in west Texas (U.S.). It even has a DVR feature: If you see an interesting bird, you can click to go back and view it again. Many rare hummingbirds have been spotted. Webcam is here. The time in Texas is 6 hours behind U.K. time.

    Everyone have a good Friday!

  • Good morning -

Quite a pleasant day here. OH and I are going to take middle daughter out for lunch. She has two days off from work, inservice days. Amy is 'off' also but has begged to be excused!! I'm sure that she will enjoy time with her school friend who is coming today and will stay for a sleepover.

Thank you, AQ and Diane for the links.

  • Good Morning Everyone.  The sun is shining, but still quite cool. The heating is still on.

AQ, I hope your nanny day is quiet and uneventful. I will certainly check on your photographs.

Diane, The webcam sounds very interesting. I will pay a visit. I have been keeping an eye on the Glaslyn nest, where the chicks haven't left yet.

Annette, Wonderful that your husband had hoovered and dusted the house. Hoping that your daughter starts finding her foot less painful.

Heather. Enjoy your lunch with your daughter. It is understandable that Amy would want to spend time with her friend.

I had just sat down yesterday morning with a coffee and a jammie doughnut, when an old neighbour called yesterday and insisted that he wasn't staying as he had the dog in the car. After a few minutes he let the dog out of the car while my OH looked for some legal papers that the friend could borrow. The dog walked into the room, where I had left my coffee, and promptly ate my doughnut :-((  I had to laugh and tell the old neighbour that it really didn't matter, but I was so looking forward to my doughnut LOL

  • Hello, Everyone.   Went into town this morning, first time I've been out of the house since last Sunday!  Got some of my photos copied, they are only snaps as of course there were an official photographer at the wedding, and also nearly everyone there was taking pics. Some have come out well, some are blurry as I was in such a hurry!  Main thing is everyone looks so happy:  it was a happy wedding and we have had many messages saying how much people enjoyed themselves.

My OH and I had lunch today and then sat down for a cuppa in our conservatory - then I promptly went to sleep for over two hours!  Feel lots better today but washed out.

Thanks to All for the links, off now to investigate them......

  • Diane:   Those hummingbirds are so cute!!  Thanks!!

  • Sad LG blog from Jess!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
