  • Margo so nice to hear from and yes pets are very forgiving.

Daisy has gone to the kennels her second visit to a local new one.

It doesn't have cats and although I am a cat person she is so not.

She is there as we are treating the lawn which has sadly been neglected since she arrived for 2 months 3 and a bit years ago. That has been down to the sad state of other local kennels . This year it's looking pretty good and OH sometimes gets the odd stripe when he mows.

Will take the opportunity for travelling further afield and doing the odd lunch out.

Looking forward to the rugby as I much prefer that to the other manly game.

Heather just get OH some steps!!!

  • OG and EE- What a terrible shock that must have been for EE's brother. He will have still have been adjusting to life in the house without his wife, and the inevitable wondering about whether he did the right thing, when arranging for her to go into care. I hope that he will eventually be grateful that her suffering and his distress at watching it, is over.

  • Sorry, quoted WENDY's post in error. What a plonker I am.

  • Now will reply, WENDY!

I have already suggested the ladder option! We think that it is a bigger shelter for the hot tub. Maybe they think the neighbours are spying on them.....

  • Heather crack open the bubbly look out the bikini ( thermal lined ) and join them!!!

  • I'll wait for the invitation but pass on the bikini..

  • The Pixies are growing in number and finDing more cages every night.

    Power to the pixies!!!!

  • Spent a lazy afternoon, watching the Davis Cup and then watched the Rugby World Cup this evening. England 35 - 11 Fiji. It has rained most of the day here, so hopefully we can work in the garden tomorrow.

Heather, I hope you can put us out of our agony tomorrow. I am now intrigued, as to what your neighbour is building ?? LOL

Wendy, When you have your perfect lawn, will you allow Daisy back on it :-)))           I can remember when our last dog was a pup, he dug that many holes in the lawn, that we had to have it returfed when he got through the puppy stage and stopped digging. When we put grass food down, he was confined to the front garden and vice versa.

  • Hi, all. I'll catch up tomorrow.

Annette: I know you're very busy, so I'll start the new thread tomorrow (Saturday).

    Take care, all.

  • Hallo all: Did a lot of yard work at daughter's Thursday - it didn't look like much when I started. Painters are officially done with all the tiny touch ups, etc. Tomorrow I must try to sort out how the irrigation system survived all those feet tramping about. Not to mention the plants. Hanging Cecile Brunner back along the eaves will be fun.  Am also finishing up my freelance project. It's all go, but good too, so no complaints.

AQ: I love the Wayville church - especially the memorial stained glass windows.  One of your "seen better days" photos shows a white wrought iron facade on a balcony that is reminiscent of New Orleans.  Interesting about the "owie" endings.  Makes a lot of sense.  I love the Tarcowie hotel - and the one in Jamestown, with Frankenstein and the WV bug parked on the second floor balcony!  How is the economy in those towns - I saw silos - but are the communities stable?

Lynette: Glad your daughter landed the job she's wanted.

Heather: Yes, lots of driving for me, but that's what's necessary right now. Will be nice (for me and daughter) when she can drive again. It may be worth asking your OH what that Serious Business at the bank was about - if you can get him away from that window where he keeps tabs on the neighbors.

Wendyb: Bikini? I'm not sure I'd want to put on a bikin even if I were the only person around. :-)  Good luck with Daisy and the lawn.

Margo: It's always a treat when you show up! So sorry things are so tiring and worrisome right now; you have everyone's support. Save your energy for your shows and outings and don't worry about individual responses.  Very generous of Billie to let you share her couch, especially after you squished her tail. That's so good of Andy Murray to donate money to the refugees - what a ghastly situation they're in.

Brenda: I find it very hard to see the refugees, who must be exhausted and beside themselves with frustration, being manhandled by police/border guards, especially when they've fled their homes and country by such brutality. What a world, eh?  We are so very, very lucky to be living in stable societies, even if they're far from perfect.

OG: Oh dear, that must have been a shock about your SiL.  Do hope things soon settle down in general and that you can perhaps still make that trip.Take care of yourselves.

    Have a good Saturday everyone.
