HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY FULL MOON!
Last week's chat thread is HERE.
I'm going to carry over Annette's links for the California Condor webcams (because I'm enjoying watching the funny looking fellas): Ventana Wildlife Society nest and feeding cams and Sespe Condor Sanctuary nest cam .
Also, Explore.org has a lot of interesting cams right now: underwater whales; sharks; the Grand Cayman reef; various underwater cams at Long Beach, California; grizzly, panda, and polar bears; puffins; a hummingbird nest; penguins; auroras; and various Africa cams. I like to watch some of them while meditating. Explore's Hawaii cams might be interesting over the next 2-3 days as Category 4 Hurricane Ignacio approaches from the east and tracks just north of the Hawaiian Islands, causing very high surf.
Everyone have a great week!
Hand over complete and I didn't disgrace myself in either car.
Good 8 mile walk with eldest and my son in sin is cooking tonight ( as he does most nights ).
Just completed online Tesco shop for my OH to have delivered in the Highlands tomorrow .
Turned a tad chilly tonight was so looking forward to more of yesterday's glorious weather.
So enjoying my me time as OH works from home this is bliss...

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Heather B said: Well, I've left OH watching the sad and awful news about the refugees on the TV news at 6 o'clock - just couldn't carry on watching it. I don't want this post to attract any political comments, please.

WENDY - sounds blissful! How good that your girls enjoy walking as much as you, and clever eldest, finding a man to cook for her! I had to laugh at you ordering from down south the groceries for your OH at home!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Condor feed cam has two adults in a dead tree - makes them look even more like Vultures!
Agree, humanitarian aid is essential.
Only been following sad events online...
Not a controversial topic but a caring being human response to these events.
Eldest found this budding chef( accountant actually 14 years ago)
We have fresh bread to go with our arabiata(?) and carrot cake is waiting in the cake tin....relax!!!
Wiped out after tackling argumentative Ms. Brunner; phew. Meeting daughter for breakfast in the a.m., then home to finish with the garden before painters arrive bright and early Saturday morning to power wash. Plan to spend weekend with feet up and a book.
WendyB: In my next life I'm going to marry a chef.
OG: Must say condors are much more impressive on the wing.
Diane: Hope you're doing okay.
Before I forget, who was it who had knee surgery recently? I was wondering how the recovery was going.
Take care all. Have a good Friday. Yawn.
Annette - It was Rita who recently had knee surgery, and she hasn't been on this thread since just about a week after she got home from her "holiday" down south of the Border.
Had to smile at your comment a few days ago about enjoying the drizzle! In Feb 2007 I spent 6 nights in Cape Town and found the heat almost unbearable (a/c in hotel room was next to useless!) On my last day there I decided to go back up Table Mountain - which by the time I got there was pretty well covered with the proverbial Table Cloth. Once out of the Cable Car I realised it was drizzling quite nicely - I was in my element in my T-shirt and trews, and everyone else was using umbrellas, ponchos and waterproofs!! In Scotland we are used to rain!!!!!
