HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY FULL MOON!
Last week's chat thread is HERE.
I'm going to carry over Annette's links for the California Condor webcams (because I'm enjoying watching the funny looking fellas): Ventana Wildlife Society nest and feeding cams and Sespe Condor Sanctuary nest cam .
Also, Explore.org has a lot of interesting cams right now: underwater whales; sharks; the Grand Cayman reef; various underwater cams at Long Beach, California; grizzly, panda, and polar bears; puffins; a hummingbird nest; penguins; auroras; and various Africa cams. I like to watch some of them while meditating. Explore's Hawaii cams might be interesting over the next 2-3 days as Category 4 Hurricane Ignacio approaches from the east and tracks just north of the Hawaiian Islands, causing very high surf.
Everyone have a great week!
Dear All
Just a quick post as my sister is coming down with Sienna and Rhys for a couple of hours.
Thank you for your thoughts. Saw my consultant this morning and she confirmed that I will have a relapse but for the moment will be keeping me on the chemotherapy I have been having. Once this stops working, as it will, there are other options but they will be even more invasive and I will have to go into hospital for a while as there will be unpleasant side effects. OH says it is up to me to decide on further treatment which will make me feel even more poorly but I feel I owe it to everyone to give it a go.
Waiting for our hallway and bathroom to dry out now so we can get new carpet and floor covering for bathroom. Have to say the last week has been pretty traumatic but got through it and feeling less stressed out now.
Thanks for all your interesting posts. OG you seem to be enjoying all the various outings, hope you are not wearing yourself out.
We enjoyed Chas & Dave show very much on Friday, real foot tapping stuff.
Must stop now but have a good day all.
love Margo x
Love to you, Margo. I am sure we will speak about this morning, on the phone. Enjoy seeing your sister, especially Sienna and Rhys. I know you will love to see them.
I hung all my washing outside, as the forecaster said that we would be unlucky if we had a shower today. Well, I guess we are unlucky, as we have just had a very heavy shower and my washing is now wetter than when I hung it out. The tumble dryer is now on, with all the rest waiting for their turn in the dryer :-((
MARGO - Thank you for updating us so quickly. So far, sounds not too bad? Sorry if I am wrong. I have been looking up all the treatments for myelodysplasia which if I remember correctly is your diagnosis. I wrote it down in our desk diary when you told me and it must be in 2013 diary which of course, is the only one that is missing from the pile in our office here :-( I can't understand why that one is missing. OH will be cross, he keeps things for absolutely ages!
Morning all:
Clare: 6th Anniversary? You mean we've filled six whole years wittering on about housecleaning, ironing and our OH's?
dibnlib: Have a great trip!
Margo: Good to hear from you that you're feeling less stressed and fingers crossed current regimen keeps working for a long time! Hope you've got more shows planned. :-)
Heather: If you find our little wooden toaster tongs while you're looking for the Diary, let me know. They've disappeared from their place by the toaster where they've been for years; we've turned the kitchen drawers inside out looking.... And I can lend you my 2013 diary if that helps. (Sorry, major attack of the sillies.) :-)
Oh by the way, has anyone seens that fab video taken off the Scilly Isles of the diver tickling and shaking hands with a seal? It was on our CBS website today but can't find a YouTube version of that particular incident, although there seem to have been several similar over the years.
Off to sponge off before coffee with friend. Wonderful gray skies here today - actual drizzle too! It's soooo exciting.
Hello!! We're back and unpacking. Plus my OH is picking plums again, LOL. sadly they are all ripening at once, which means we will have to give lots away. He is just now preparing green beans for the freezer, but we only have room for some of them, so some have already gone to a kindly neighbour who picks up our post & keeps an eye on things when we are away.
Tomorrow we have a lot of medical type appointments! OH is off to Dentist, I have Optician and a blood test. In between, I will try to come on here and tell you about our time away, plus The Saga of the Table (still ongoing....) and the Story of the Dog Who Smelled Truly Terrible.
Not got time for proper replies to your posts, yet, and have only skimmed through the last couple of days but I gather that Margo is happily tidying up after the workmen, and hoping to get her new carpets down soon. I've been thinking about you, Margo. So glad you enjoyed your latest concert, and hope that you can get yourself on an even keel soon so that you can go to some more of them.
ps. Thank You for the good wishes for my birthday, yesterday. We tried to celebrate it low key as I said "but I had one only 6 months ago!"

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

Lawyers acting for the Save Me Trust today sent a letter before action to Natural England requiring them to revoke the licences to kill badgers held by the cull operators in Gloucestershire, Somerset and Dorset.
OG Have been in contact with our travel agent who tells us to go ahead as planned. We are not actually leaving from Budapest main railway but from one on the outskirts with reserved seats. If these are taken we have to contact the ticket inspector. OH did ask if it would be an idea to fly instead and was told we would not get a refund for the train and the flights woud cost £140 pp. Point is we wanted to go by train to see the countryside.
Busy tomorrow as I will swim in the morning, then a long hair appt, home to pack, and a church group in the evening if I feel I am organised enough.
Benso by the way looks like a skinned rabbit after his haircut.
Let you know how things went. bye till then
