HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat thread is here.
I hope everyone is safe from the bad weather in the U.K.
Margo: Sorry it was so frightful for you.
Clare: Congratulations on your new opportunity at Minsmere. Enjoy!
Brenda: Sorry you lost your match with the men folks. :-) I'm sure your new roses are lovely.
Lindy: I hope you enjoy your time in Wales.
Annette: So glad you all had such a nice day at the beach.
Heather: I hope things are improving for your family in France.
AQ: I've enjoyed looking at your photos. I like the Koroit Library, the Cape Nelson Lighthouse, and the Portland Tram; also, I want to live in the little Kalangadoo Church with the green roof! Very lovely.
You might be interested in seeing this old Catholic church near me: see here and here. Built in 1886, it stands in the rustic, restored 19th century Billie Creek Village in Parke County. Also, here's the historic old Log Church, built in 1871, in what is now Turkey Run State Park/Forest near me.
Hello to everyone. I hope this post makes sense. My neighbors are blasting off huge fireworks. They terrify me. I hope they don't set the woods on fire. Poor, poor wildlife. I hate July 4th.
LYNETTE - wasn't meaning to "put you right" - just letting you know what J is doing. Started well last evening, but hoping to get in touch with more kids from the community where church is going to build.
ANNETTE - pleased GDaughter and Ex are communicating sensibly now. Congrats on the new vehicle - I am sure you will love it as much as the old one!
RITA - best wishes and prayers for the op and the recovery period.
MARGO - hugs {{ }} and prayers.
GEORGE - hope all well with you - and how is Sister-in-Law?
Gloomy day so far, with showers. Too many contradictory weather forecasts, but may be able to peg laundry out at lunchtime. No great plans for the day.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
CLARE - just seen your post on the daily. Sorry about Helen - I hope the result will be reassuring. Thinking of her - and you and Limpy.
Hello, All - we're back. Had a good journey today and have got the w.machine on within 20 mins of coming through the front door! Sorry to read that Helen is poorly, Clare: hope she soon recovers. You must feel strange as you would have been geared up mentally for your Minsmere stint :-(
Just read back on the Daily Thread & see that Clare is worried about Helen, who has tests on Thursday. Do hope its a scare over nothing Clare. Thinking of you All just now, and hope Helen has a more comfortable day today .
Clare thinking of you, Helen and Limpy. Hope tests will show what the problem is.
Clare: I hope Helen recovers rapidly and that the tests show good results.
Lindybird: Welcome home and thanks for filling us in on Helen's upcoming appointments.
Clare: Hope all is well Thursday; natural to worry, especially where our kids are concerned. Good she's being check out.
Still exhausted from combo of beach days, fair days, firework evenings, car-shopping days. Granddaughter and Ms D. down at our house after lunch and will spend the night before heading back to AZ at the crack of dawn tomorrow. I'm wondering if Ms. D will want another afternoon leaping about in the ocean or if a trip to the carousel downtown might suffice.... Thursday, I'm up to docs with daughter who has a non-threatening skin cancer that has to be removed but will apparently leave her with a good number of stitches, etc. Not sure I'm going to get much rest this week...
Take care everyone.
Welcome home LINDY, did Bonnie behave herself?
Thanks OG for posting re Helen, also LINDY. CLARE- hoping that the ECG shows nothing untoward - understand how you must be feeling right now.
ANNETTE- you will need a chill out by the end of this week! Such a lot happening. It sounds as if you have all had a good time, though. Enjoy your new car, colour sounds nice. I'm happy to read that things are relaxed between your granddaughter and her ex.
Amy plus the insulin pump managed to cope with birthday cake etc yesterday, no dramas during the night.
We had extremely heavy rain here today. I was in town, planning to walk home but ran for a taxi. Had a showerproof jacket on but trousers were soaked in seconds. OH was at a PROBUS meeting.
Just come back on and have edited my message to Clare, which read "Clare" where it should have read "Helen" - sorry I'm being confusing, but its all go here......
Heather: we are dry today, except for tiny dripping showers, but we had wall to wall rain yesterday, which was a day only salvaged by the viewing of Wimbledon on TV all afternoon!
the tales of Bonnie will have to wait for tomorrow....they are long and fishy, & wet!
