Daily Update ~ Loch Garten Nest ~ Tuesday, 12 May 2015

It is a huge privilege to start this new thread, especially after a day like yesterday.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mother, father, all ospreys worldwide and Tiger for drawing in his claws and stepping back.

I wish us all a less confused day of watching and attempting to interpret, and EJ and Odin the very best luck in the world in their defence of the most famous Osprey nest in the world.

Greetings all fellow 'midnighters'.

Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

MOFFER, Ithought BB had a much whiter chest than OC. Just a trick of the light, maybe?

So did I, but we can only see this stream. They are seeing not only the nest but surrounding area in good quality footage. Perhaps we all got carried away, but I'm keeping an open mind on it for now.
I also thought there was an identifiable difference between these birds, but as Moffer says, I, too, will keep an open mind.

  • The name will never go down well with me!!!

  • You could almost understand her saying - enough is enough- I'm not coming back to this hell hole again!!!

  • She doesnt seem to understand that she's free to get her own fish - unless she's thinking that she will lose the nest if she's away long - what a dilemma!
Didn't OC also have orange eyes?

  • There is an extra COMMENT, from Jen, explaining that there has been only one intruder plus Odin.

  • Thanks for that.  She also explains very well how they know it is Odin.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Looking in and have just skimmed through the pages and see there is still some confusion over id's. Hopefully before long things will resolve and we will get a better picture of who's who.

Thanks for all updates and pics so far.
