It is a huge privilege to start this new thread, especially after a day like yesterday.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mother, father, all ospreys worldwide and Tiger for drawing in his claws and stepping back.
I wish us all a less confused day of watching and attempting to interpret, and EJ and Odin the very best luck in the world in their defence of the most famous Osprey nest in the world.
Greetings all fellow 'midnighters'.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

I have looked and relooked over and over since you posted that snap, and I have no sign, sound or vision, of any landing around that time. I wonder if this could account for the missed fish last Wednesday evening.
I'll start running VLC alongside the Carnyx direct link.
[/quote]Here you go Scylla. One frame in a mini freeze and was gone.
You mention missing something at 10.28. My post was a bit late.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
I had completely forgotten I'd saved this - this shows all of Odin's underside:
I don't know who took this fantastic photo but whoever you are, many thanks!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

The Odin thread is where all things Odin are kept.
Tiger Signature
I think it was "Valmc". She certainly took similar ones.
IMAGICAT
Another great Odin picture
Sorry I left so abruptly. BT engineer update on broadband.
Need to catch up again now.
Interesting news from Aviemore Ospreys
EJ has been shouting for at least half an hour. Still no fish for her.
Sound like light rain at LG.
Never been convinced about them Tiger. How they can id in a split second. Even the LG staff went last year to visit and came away unconvinced 100%
However the good news is that moffers sighting of Odin before noon is confirmed on LG facebook. Well done moffer
No pressure moffer but all eyes to you for id'ing all ospreys landing in the nest
