It is a huge privilege to start this new thread, especially after a day like yesterday.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mother, father, all ospreys worldwide and Tiger for drawing in his claws and stepping back.
I wish us all a less confused day of watching and attempting to interpret, and EJ and Odin the very best luck in the world in their defence of the most famous Osprey nest in the world.
Greetings all fellow 'midnighters'.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
Too fast for a capture - that was him, and he was back! She told him in no uncertain terms to go fishing, though. G'night and I mean it this time!

Not gone fishing :-( Is he continuing as he unfortunately left off, leaving EJ hungry for hours?
IMAGICAT
That was a live capture, CC, and I had to stretch too! That's an achievement here ;-)
Ref the above mating attempt, on replay I see that there was no hint of a raised tail before Odin sat down - but between this snap and the sitting one, there was no movement, cam froze:
4:29 what appears to have been an unringed male lands on her back and after a brief unsuccessful mating attempt flies off. Don't know Odin well enough to recognise him, but the male's breast did not seem heavily streaked like OC. Having said all that the nightcam is still on which don't help a lot!!!
DAYCAM 0435hr:
The full daylight picture reveals a very wet EJ :-(
Alarm chirps from EJ? Just one burst.
Well it didn't come to anything.
Another, even briefer, alarm chirp burst.
I guess Odin should be at Aviemore by now, and with luck, grabbing a biggie for EJ's breakfast. :-D
