Well not unexpectedly the season came to an end on Saturday morning when the intruding male broke the final egg.
As EJ is still in brooding mode she is still spending a lot of time on the nest brooding non existent eggs.
It now remains to be seen what will happen next. A variety of things could happen but as always with ospreys they will usually surprise us.
I guess the only way to find out is to keep watching.

I have been saying the last few days that except when oc came EJ was very content and quiet like she was aware of Odins presence. I wonder if EJ has been giving g he fish to Odin when she has appeared back so quickly.
What brilliant news. The best. I always knew he was alive!! just biding his time and gaining his strength. Possibly did not want to come back to fight off 3 males so possibly waited for one (OC) to get rid of possible other two so that he would only have one to deal with! that's my theory anyway! Can't wait for further news. Also hope ODIN moves OC on! that's putting it diplomatically! I AM SO HAPPY! (Have been thinking of fellow blogger Cirrus a lot over these past few days who we know loves our Tufty Boy to death) - I for one am breaking open the beer! or champers even!) Just so happy he is alive.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I'd go with that too Clare.
Birdies LG DU update.
Absolutely thrilled to check in and see this wonderful news.

Exactly! I can't rest until this sorts itself out, am in a heap, have lost track of everything.
This is the complete video where EJ follows "Odin" onto the nest, there's a faux mating when she slightly lifts her tail, he flies off... EJ retrieves an eggshell and incubates it.
Surely that had to be him?! This DAM-CAM!
