Oh, what I keep meaning to say is that OC doesn't look like a UK osprey to me. Not that I have many years' experience with many UK ospreys!

I'm not trying to be 'cute', DOUGIE, but what would constitute EJ winning the battle? Sometimes I don't see the obvious!
EDIT - Do you mean getting a new man to raise her chicks?
Maybe he is a foreign osprey Scylla and maybe doesn't understand EJ'S "gonny gawn get ee's a fish" twang. There we have solved the mystery of OC'S inadequacies :)
I wonder if OL/BTO is still chasing OC. They were both (EJ and OC) mantling earlier (when we had no sound) before OC went fishing. Skydancing would announce to any bird close by that there may be a fish in the offing. Just a thought.

Sorry I ment battle of witts. She needs food and very very soon, she has half heartedly accepted OC with allowing him to stay on the nest. Food would be round one, teaching OC if he wants anything from her he needs to feed her. That would give her a fighting chance. If he is young there is a small chance he may accept the eggs, small but better than now. No chance. Just trying to keep positive :-)
Thank you, DOUGIE, I see what you mean :-) He'd obviously got the idea, what a terrible sod's law moment that one of the other intruders barged in :'(
Me and EJ think we are hearing a hint of skydancing far, far away :-/ But there'd be no point skydancing far, far away ;-)
Morning ALL When I turned on at 09.16 OC was standing quietly on the nest, with EJ not complaining. It was such a pity that EJ didn't get her beak on the fish when OC brought it in. This really is wildlife in the raw, and it makes difficult watching. At some point, unless OC steps up to the mark, EJ must leave the nest in search of a fish. What will happen then?

There is not just a case of if EJ pairs off with OC. There still seems to be a battle between OC and another male, who both want the nest, or nest and EJ.
A fish and that will sort the other intruders out, two is better than one. I still hope and pray Odin will return
