WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY MAY 3, 2015

Hallo all

Check out last week's thread for holiday shots from Lindybird and funnies from dibnlib.

That was a large baby (by today's standards). Anyone remember how much George weighed? I see Alice and Charlotte are the top name choices - both are pretty. I'm waiting for the call asking my opinion! :-)

Lindybird: That's a lovely beach.

dibnlib: Good for you standing up for yourself re your work hours. Hope it brings a positive change - regardless. Love the rear of that wine truck. :-)

Heather: A shame about your dinner. Hope the guest of honor enjoyed his.

Guy came this morning and tree and plants are now nicely tucked up in the soil. He told me his crew is available for half-day jobs (trimming, etc.), which I'll certainly keep in mind.  Off to daughter's to pick up the guinea pig tomorrow morning; then home for appointment with possible house painter.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

  • Enjoy your hols Heather:-)

    Worrying times at LG:-(

More ABs for Daisy but as she is licking its the dreaded lampshade.

Back in a week... Bill escalating so hooray for insurance.

  • Evening all:  Geez. So Odin has been AWOL since Tuesday morning? Hope he shows up soon.

Clare: Maybe you should send your advertisement/resume to someone just for the heck of it (leave off the "watch osprey" bit though).  :-)

    Lindybird: Yes, lovely pix!

OG: Hope the mobility conference proves helpful and that you have a good couple of days away.

Heather: Oh gosh. I've missed you. Do have a good time (did your brother ever get some new wheels)?

    Wendyb: Missed you too.

OH and I are off to LA (blech) tomorrow, but our destination is the Getty Museum and the Turner exhibit from Tate Britain so it's well worth the ride.  Daughter safely at halfway point to granddaughter's house.  King (photo here) and I went for nice putter this afternoon; he's a sweetie.

Hope everyone's fingers are okay - and Good Luck Surviving the Election everyone!  :-)

  • Good Morning, All. King is a lovely looking boy - my sis in law looks after a similar dog whose name is Sultan, which I think suits him well. poor Daisy! They do so hate the dreaded lampshade. Dry here at present but showery predicted. Hope all those travelling today have stress free journeys.
  • OG - A friend (another friend) suggested I got on all fours and barked near the door!! Trouble is, my barking sounds more like clearing my throat than Bonnie's short sharp bark! She barks at the hoover, and when she sees a pigeon, so maybe we should get a pigeon indoors. .........
  • LOL!  Fluffy, our male cockatiel, is attempting to lighten the atmosphere here by serenading Bernie, his mate!  He does this by pointing his whole body at her and making a whole host of cheerful but incomprehensible noises.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Wish we could hear him, Clare!!
  • So do I.  I'm expecting the happy sounds of mating soon!

  • I could say "Too much information!"  LOL!!

  • Just tried on the raspberry trousers (incomprehensibly labelled as being "plum" coloured)  and they fit fine.  Just hope I can wear them in a sunny summer.

    Here are more photos:

We took my Amaryllis to Wales with us, as it was about to flower. However, its been even more dramatic since our return, and rewarded us with four beautiful blooms.

Blossoms not quite open on our apple tree - its coming out now, in the sun. I love the colour of the buds before they open, though, they are so vibrant.

  • Off to the dentist and the voting booths, now.  I lost a filling whilst away, but it should be painless to repair it as its happened before. Have a Good Day, All, and try not to worry too much about our dear ospreys.....
