Hallo all
Check out last week's thread for holiday shots from Lindybird and funnies from dibnlib.
That was a large baby (by today's standards). Anyone remember how much George weighed? I see Alice and Charlotte are the top name choices - both are pretty. I'm waiting for the call asking my opinion! :-)
Lindybird: That's a lovely beach.
dibnlib: Good for you standing up for yourself re your work hours. Hope it brings a positive change - regardless. Love the rear of that wine truck. :-)
Heather: A shame about your dinner. Hope the guest of honor enjoyed his.
Guy came this morning and tree and plants are now nicely tucked up in the soil. He told me his crew is available for half-day jobs (trimming, etc.), which I'll certainly keep in mind. Off to daughter's to pick up the guinea pig tomorrow morning; then home for appointment with possible house painter.
Have a good Sunday everyone.
I should advertise. How about this: experienced accounts assistant requires employment in a civilised company which will let her wear jeans in the workplace and enjoy banter with the rest of the staff. Is very hard working and full of initiative and has a preference for listening to loud rock music at her desk and would like to watch ospreys as she works!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Nice to see you, Diane. Have you seen the Wellesley ravens lately? They are looking good!
Packing completed as far as possible until the morning.
Dibnlib – pleased Kai continues to be famous – such a lovely Dog, and a story with a happy ending. Sorry you are still coughing (OH too), and well done swimming when you feel so bad.
Heather – take care, and get well soon.
Brenda – we have had this car two and a half years, so would renew (if we do) next spring, but the show is on now, so taking the opportunity for comparisons. I normally refuse to discuss change until I get the reminder, so am making a concession for this! I hope lunch was good today. I am looking forward to a few days without cooking while we are away.
Lynette – pleased you enjoyed the Ladies’ Lunch – and have a wonderful day at the wedding!
Linda – have you tried saying “Woof” (with a doggy accent) to Bonnie when you find her at the door waiting for it to open? Nice photos as usual!
Wendy – I hope the warty-thing will not cost you too much at the Vet.
Clare – sorry you have another disappointment, but at least this company let you know! I assume most of your draft advert was tongue-in-cheek?
Must have coffee and then get hosed down for church business meeting this evening – I fear it may turn into a long one, even though they are starting it early! Not taking a computer this time, so will probably just reappear on Sunday! Take care, all.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

Hello all
Glad I am not alone in my suffering lol!
As usual, no packing done yet, we leave on the 7am flight to Gatwick, Friday and return on the 16th. I hope to be in touch during the week. And yes, OG, We are taking the usual goodies, including Charley Barleys Stornoway Black Pudding!
Hope that you have a good trip, OG and EE.
BRENDA - What a mystery about your OH's finger.Does your daughter have any ideas?
Now a memory test for me. Am I right in thinking that LINDY's OH also has finger problems?
I have been reading all your posts but the old memory bank is beginning to fail. Not as much as Sheana's though. Yesterday, what a shame. She kept asking me if I could hear 'them' talking. Also, could not really grasp that I will be away in France for a week. I have told the staff so hope that all will be OK.
EVERYONE, Thank you for your news.
I have only just been online and seen the anxiety about ODIN :-(
WENDY hope that wart gets sorted out soonest and that it isn't causing Daisy too much of a problem in the meantime.
LINDY Call the fire brigade.
CLARE Bad luck again. That advert sounds perfect to me.
Came back from lunch and some shopping at the garden centre and then Waitrose. Neighbour, who had returned from holiday, asked if OH could help with some fencing that was moving in the gales and a young 15' tree was at a 45 degree angle, as it's stake had rotted at the base and had snapped. We both did some temporary repairs to the fence and fitted a new stake to the tree. Everything was fine when she returned home and OH had checked her garden before we went out for lunch !!
