I've surfaced from drowning in mysterious tech problems, hopefully gasping for air just long enough to start out our new day.
EJ, in her usual reliable way, has produced Egg #2 exactly when it was expected. Apart from another intruder landing on the nest (the same one as the other day, the Odin look-alike?), it has been a good day for us all.
The deer have just finished "barking" and now some corvid-like calls can be heard in the distance, but EJ is taking no notice - apparently!

Intruder? EJ not happy - strident calls
Edit: Oops, heard the calls and assumed it was EJ incubating - now checked and can see it is the faithful Odin

EJ's back
Thanks for info, Moffer - EJ now settling back on to eggs
She's just had a four hour lunch break, while Odin the Magnificent watched the kids :)

Its a beautiful day here at Loch Garten. While Odin sits on the nest in the heat trying to keep cool, EJ is nearby enjoying the sun and preening herself after a refreshing dip.

Thanks for that MOFFER
EJ is absolutely stunning in that photograph Moffer!

I think that's the best photo to date. I'd hang that on my wall :)
