Happy New Week!
Hi all, back from sunny Norfolk, got back about 1.15pm so all the unpacking and start of the washing is done. Still more to do but that can wait till later tonight.
We have had a good few days up in Norfolk with the weather on the whole bright and sunny for most days, the only glitch was on Wednesday when we went down to Constable country - stayed overcast for most of the day but then started to brighten up in the afternoon so by the time we got back to the cottage it was beautiful and sunny. A few pics to follow later.
Hope you are all ok and that Margo is feeling a whole lot better.

Anzac Day. Lest We Forget. 100 years since our men landed at Gallipoli. Very chilly for those attending the dawn services. Even chillier (rain & strong winds) for those sleeping out last night at Morphettville racecourse, site of a WWI army camp. Two friends were going with their g-son. Swags & food as the Diggers had in 1915. Similar campouts in all capital cities. Now mid-morning it is fine for the annual commemorative march.
OG: Thinking there might have been something worse reminds me of when I used to bang my elbow and my mother would say "bang the other one; it'll take your mind off it!" And yes, now I say that to my grandkids.
Lynette: Welcome home; we'll look forward to pix.
AQ: Quite a bit of coverage here about the 100th anniversary of Gallipoli - war is hell and all that....
Four cow/calf pairs during my shift today. Very low-key group just ploughing steadily north....
Have NO plans for the weekend - hurray!
Have a good Saturday all.
Thinking of all in OZ and NZ on this Anzac Day. Very poignant here too as we just passed the anniversary of the "worst" train crash on British soil - nearby at Quintinshill, Gretna - when a whole train load of soldiers headed for Gallipoli were horrifically killed.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Lord Ashcroft latest polling in Bristol West (3 way marginal)
Greens are actually second in Bristol West, but well behind Labour (Lab 38, Green 25, LD 20, Con 14.
Yes, OG, saw part of Charles's speech on the news. Oh didn't know that OG.
Will post pics on next weeks general chat.
Hi to all! After a really dull and sometimes wet morning, the weather (and even the ground) is now drier, with something resembling sunshine trying hard to cheer things up! I reached the end of my ironing pile and J did his last evening, so there is none sitting around now.
Lynette – good to see you are back after a really good break, and I notice you have plans for another! Take your time over the laundry – I am sure it won’t go anywhere!
AQ – did you bake Anzac biscuits? I mentioned them this morning, and OH said he never heard of them, maybe they never entered his consciousness as he doesn’t like coconut.
Annette – I often use diversion tactics for pain, but don’t think I would go as far as banging a second elbow! Pleased you saw more whale pairs yesterday. I wonder whether you will relax during your no-plans weekend, or whether you will start rushing about looking for things to do!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO AQ
And
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO DIBNLIB
Perhaps the person starting new week for tomorrow morning could carry these forward!
Very bad earthquake in Nepal, over 800 killed and 10 climbers killed on Everest after there was an avalanche caused by the earthquake. Terrible loss of life - lots trapped in crumbled buildings.
HB from me AQ and HA to you Dibnib.
Thank you OG & LYNETTE.
Happy Anniversary DIBNLIB.
Must get ready for church. 8 C at 7 am this morn.
