Hallo all:

jsb: Thanks for the link to to Capercaille call - was it you who said it wasn't one you could whistle to? Right!
Morning All. Started off sunny and is now cloudy and a cold wind.
Linda, You have started a trend now. A joke each morning. Great idea. I love the dog picture. I hope it is not real though.
Annette, I admit to being the one, who was watching the golf and with laptop on. I do enjoy Golf and enjoyed watching last night. Augusta is a lovely course to look at, but so manicured. Is that the true sense of the game! I would still love to go and see the Masters and all the flowers/ birds. Our neighbour's have been there watching the golf this weekend. We will probobly have to sit through a hole by hole report when they come home. I am just jealous!!
Off to check on the nest.
Morning all ,
Thanks for all the overnight chat etc.
Just found another falcon cam in Italy. They have chicks and just been watching them being fed:

Lindybird said: Tiger: We watched the Golf tournament until late last night, as my Husband was very much excited by the thought that a Brit might win for once, but not to be. Enjoyed some great golf, though, and the grounds at Augusta are just immaculate. I said "I imagine that 1st thing in the morning, the Groundsman in charge looks at all the blades of grass and says 'Eyes Right, Left Turn' before going to inspect the flowers individually." It was great to hear all the bird calls, and some of them are so pretty, when they take the time to turn the cameras on them.

Lindybird. Yes Agusta is a very special place. Bobby Jones retired from the game at the age of 28 having won what was then called "The Grand Slam". He was looking to build a golf course and found this pieceof land in Augusta Georgia of which Jones is reputed to have said "Perfect! And to think this ground has been lying here all these years waiting for someone to come along and lay a golf course upon it.
The building begin in 1931 and as they say the rest is history.

Another close up at LOTL:
Alan thanks what a gorgeous close up, I really love those eyes. Was watching a few minutes ago when the male turned up and mated with her again. Looks like things going well at the moment.e
Since my last post there has been another mating at LOTL, so he is a busy boy today.
Lovely close- up Alan. Thanks to Tiger for potted history of Augusta Golf Course.
Afternoon all the weather here is glorious and this morning went up to Vane Farm as I was needing more bird food. As I was standing in the car park all was quite except for the bird song and I could have stood a lot longer just listning to the different calls. There was quite a lot of wagtails and pink footed geese as well as some swans and ducks. After lunch went out and cut the grass as it was starting to sprout rather quickly and now I am trying to catch up on all that is going on. If weather stays as nice rest of week might take a trip to LOTL to see what i9s happening there.

Afternoon all,
I have been in the garden most of the day painting the arbour as the birds have made rather a mess of it during the winter. It has been quite a nice day , not too windy with some sunshine. Hamish brought his blanket out and lay there supervising my work. Eventually he got bored and fell asleep.
The owl and hawk nesting calendar has been updated:
