WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, MARCH 8, 2015

Egads! We have to put the clocks forward tonight!  Seems like we just put them back 10 minutes ago.  :-(

  • Heather - keep meaning to say - so pleased that your daughter has found a suitable house to rent. We never stop worrying about our children.
  • My OH has swept the floors & taken out the rubbish. Now he's gone to lay in the sun & finish his thick book. I have to dry my hair and do the laundry!! Sorry to tell you that its bright here once again, we are now lucky with the weather after our cold first few days.
  • My apologies to Margo.  I gave the wrong information this morning. It is her potassium levels, which are causing some. concern. She has to stop eating bananas as they contain a lot of potassium. Rather a shame, as she usually eats one for breakfast.

  • It really has been another sunny day here. I took a chance and cut down the hydrangeas in the front garden, removing last years flower heads I just hope there will be no more severe frosts. We will have to remove some bushes / plants before work on the wall commences in the back garden. I went to see a garden, where they have used railway sleepers instead of brick. It did look more natural as plants were growing in front of it, but I will have to enquire what is the life of the sleepers and what way they are treated for preservation.

  • A dreich day today, after a few good hours this morning. No problems with car service, and OH was back for lunch. Been checking on our requirements for the remodelled “boys’ bathroom”, as designer should be here tomorrow to discuss.

Clare – how did you get on today? When will you know the result?

Brenda – thanks for reminding us about Margo – I thought it was chemo week, but can never remember whether it is one or two weeks after consultant visit. Isn’t it great to have been able to do something in the garden at last? I only went out, while it was still a pleasant morning, just to check on the greenhouse, but it was a good feeling to be able to pop outside without finding a coat and waterproof shoes! I think railway sleepers would do well for your retaining wall, but wouldn’t last as long as brick; I agree they do look more natural.

Linda – sounds like a lot of work being on holiday, sweeping floors and doing laundry! Hope there has been time for some fun and relaxation too!

Margo – sorry about the potassium level and banana ban! Only one more day this week, and I hope you will have less of a bad reaction this time.

I still didn’t do the postponed baking as we were warned we might have water pressure problems while they did a job in another part of town; we didn’t, so I could have done it. Now scheduled for tomorrow, if bathroom man doesn’t stay too long!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Hi all.   Happy reunions to those travelling to meet up with family etc.

Margo - sorry to hear you are having a few problems re potassium levels, do hope they level off soon and that you begin to feel a whole lot better.

OG - you and the rest of Scotland seem to be having some awful weather recently.  Been quite a nice day down here, even had the washing outside as well as yesterday so doesn't need too much airing off.  I love the smell of fresh laundry.

pics tonight - it looks like our eaglet has fledged as you can just see the bottom of him on a branch.   Mum in waiting looks as gorgeous as ever, and  the two ospreys at Yadkin were there tonight.

  • Good morning, all!  Only got time to say hello and bump up this thread while bathroom man is measuring.  Have told him what we want, and he seems to understand well, so should go reasonably smoothly.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Thread didn't move up - maybe it needs time to think about it!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Good Morning Everyone. Another bright morning here. 8.1c

I want to get the HW done quickly, so that we can spend some time gardening, while this weather lasts. As OG says, it has been lovely to be working in the garden without worrying about extra clothing.
I know some of you are suffering from continuous rain at the moment. 15 flood warnings in Scotland. I hope none of you have any problems.

  • Just popping in to say Happy Red Nose Day to everyone!! We have a red nose each, & made our neighbours laugh by wearing them!
