WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, MARCH 8, 2015

Egads! We have to put the clocks forward tonight!  Seems like we just put them back 10 minutes ago.  :-(

  • Happy WA to you HeatherB.  Glad you have both found new happiness together.  Dau is taking it a little easy, just working in the afternoons at an After Schools Club whilst she decides what to do next. She would like to get into  TA roll but not sure whether she is up to the mark.  Looking round to see what's on the market re jobs.  Something will turn up eventually.

Glad your dau has found somewhere to rent, its so hard for the young  adults to find a home that they can afford at present. I'm sure she'll enjoy making her home.

Great to hear you had a lovely weekend with son and his wife, George. All that food!!!! makes me feel hungry.

    Off for another swim tomorrow.

  • dibnib - I think warthogs are under-rated, they are interesting animals. Love to watch all the animals when I get a chance. Glad you managed to see some in Kenya.

Ospreys at Yadkin not there tonight and didn't get to look at the other cams today so no pics tonight.

Lovely to read all your news, folks.

  • Evening all: Rained just enough to splash the dust on the car all over the windshield, etc, etc so it looks even dirtier than before.  Went zooming off to the drive-through carwash to find they'd closed up for the day. Oh well.

Rita: We can get rhubarb, but then I'm the only person who eats it and I'd forgotten how much sugar you have to add!!

Will be off early in the morning to meet two friends for lunch in Long Beach, then will stay the night with other friend before driving to AZ Friday. Will take laptop so will look in....

    Take care everyone.

  • ANNETTE - have a wonderful time - safe travels and happy reunions with friends and family!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • pleasant enough at the moment, but forecast is for heavy rain before the morning is out.  OH will drop me at the fitness club on his way to work, so will put in a few lengths and catch the bus home. Best wear my waterproofs I think for the walk home from the busstop.

Do hope Clare has a successful interview.

So do I.  I am so sick to death of being unemployed....I want to be able to plan things like a family holiday without worrying where the money is going to come from.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Annette: Enjoy your trip! Hope your OH and Peanut are ok in your absence! Clare: Thinking of you today! Margo: You're not forgotten - {HUGS} to you!
  • Good Morning Everyone. A lovely sunny morning.

I spoke to Margo yesterday. It is her chemo week. Her platelet count has risen again. More tests  today. I am sure she feels like a pin cushion.

George, Thanks for the news of your holiday. I am sure any weight gain from your sumptuous meals will soon disappear, when you resume your walks.

    Annette, Have a brilliant trip.

Clare, Have a successful interview. I do hope all will be fine.

  • Brenda - thanks for the news of dear Margo. Annette - here in Europe we are all spoiled by the warmth of the sea when on holidays in various parts of the Mediterranean, which is like a warm bath! Then we are shocked by the cold of the oceans! Some hardy souls here come because of the invigorating and clean sea bathing, and we often see folks nipping out before their breakfast. A friend of ours does four lengths of our little bay every day, its about 400 yards or so - she is 78!!
