HAPPY NEW WEEK AND HAPPY NEW MONTH!
Last week's Chat thread is HERE.
Thursday, March 5, is the Full Moon.
Also,
On March 6, NASA's Dawn spacecraft will arrive at the dwarf planet Ceres. Ceres is the largest object in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
The Dawn space probe will spend several months observing Ceres and sending back the first close-up images of a dwarf planet in our solar system. You can watch the spacecraft's arrival at Ceres on a special broadcast of the Slooh Observatory:
U.K.: Friday 6 March at 6:00 p.m.Eastern U.S.: 6 March at 1:00 p.m.California: 6 March at 10:00 a.m.
Scientists have already detected mysterious bright spots on Ceres and are anxious to discover what they are. INFO
Everyone have a great week!
There are notices in airports OG about what you can import/export. I'd better check them:-)
Unknown said:Linda, I wonder what the people at the airport thought when they saw bacon, on the X-ray, in your suitcase. Is it actually allowed ?

Blimey. This is the Wikipedia entry on Bugis Street - that must have been quite a sight!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Food imports, dairy, meat etc to UK -Canary Islands count as EU so suppose that the reverse is true, haven't investigated.
US is quite a different matter, as OG highlighted.
I have sent smoked salmon to France via a smokehouse in the Highlands but the panic I felt about it going off before it arrived spoilt for me, the pleasure of sending it. It went by Airsure and arrived in perfect condition, thankfully.
Can't bring a darn thing in here or they'll send you to Guantanemo! On the other hand, sister did arrive with some Crunchie bars with no trouble when I met her in NY.
Completely knackered this morning. Went to bed at a reasonable hour, but daughter's dog, who was in the same room as Peanut, decided he wanted to sleep outside, so about 11 p.m. started barking (very unusual). Daughter was in farthest bedroom and flat out; I lay there wondering why whoever owned the dog didn't DO something until I suddenly twigged that it wasn't coming from the usual directions, so got up and let him out. Went back to sleep until 1:30; then lay awake until daughter got up at 3:30, whereupon I cooked her eggs and toast while she packed the car (again!). She was off at 4:30 and is now somewhere near Palm Springs. She'll stay overnight at a motel that has a nice pool and hot tub before continuing to Gd's tomorrow. I went back to bed after she left and slept for a whole hour before the trash trucks started doing their rounds, so am more than a little groggy today. Don't hold up much hope for a snooze coz the recycling and garden waste trucks will be joining the show later, not to mention that Wednesday seems also to be "mow, blow, and go" day for local gardens.
Will catch up later when (hopefully) I'm more coordinated.
Bumping the thread up - but no time to say anything!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
My page has changed on my phone...
Hate it....
Nothing to report here and as away end of March will miss EJs return:-(
