WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2015

Happy New Week all

  • Aww Clare, sorry you did not get the job, particularly as it was the one you wanted - hopefully one of you other interviews will prove fruitful.

Lindy are you off somewhere nice for your holidays - hopefully somewhere less dreary and cold than the UK at present.  Here is a slightly spring like snap from my Island holiday last week (first day back to work to day - gosh it was hard getting up this morning)

  • Hi Lmac - love your island pictures. Its always hard going back to work after a break. I'm off to the Canary Islands for a bit of sunshine - its not red hot there at this time of year, but very pleasant, and possible to wear shorts in the daytime.
  • Nice to see our Eldest - he demolished an enormous plate of chilli & rice in just a minute longer than it took me to sit down! He & his fiancee are now planning their Wedding, next September. I've got a feeling that this year will go as fast as the last one!
  • Clare - meant to say, I would kill to see a kestrel fly over my garden!!
  • Lindy exciting times for you, holiday in the sun, new puppy and then a family wedding. New outfit for son's wedding...exciting but expensive times ahead, enjoy them all.

  • Lmac: Lovely pix!

Diane: That video was on our local news the same evening it happened; apparently the sea lion stuck around for about an hour. (FYI, couldn't get the video to load.)

Two northbound gray whales during my shift today; then some humpbacks goofing off way out just as I was leaving. We went from brilliant sunshine to very heavy black clouds that dumped rain and hail behind us and on both sides, but somehow missed us. All a bit peculiar; we'd packed up all the gear ready to run for cover. When the next shift arrived, they wondered why we were all dry while it had been bucketing down barely a mile up the road.  OH said it rained/hailed here for almost an hour. Garden is happy.

    Lmac, absolutely beautiful!

I have two applications outstanding at the moment - let's hope at least one of them leads to an interview.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning, All. Dry here but cloudy & rather blustery. Annette: Glad you saw some whales this time. Also, how great to get rain for your garden, without getting wet yourself!!
  • Lmac: Thanks for your good wishes! Yes, its going to be a busy year! I'm not even looking for an outfit for the wedding until nearer the time, as my weight fluctuates! Son and his Fiancee went to South Wales, where they are having the wedding, on Sunday, to book some of the entertainment & flowers. It took them 2 & a half hours to get there, then 4 & a half to get back again!
  • Clare: I've still got everything crossed for you, for a successful job interview, even though its giving me difficulty walking, LOL!!
