WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY FEBRUARY 15, 2015

Evening all:

Lindybird: Love those poppies - such a wonderful rich color. I love tulips that color too.

AQ: Glad you're feeling better; sorry about the heat.

Rita:The Epi doesn't usually bloom until June.....

Battling my way through this jigsaw, which is the hardest one I've ever done (although Van Gogh's Irises was pretty challenging).  However, am packing it in now and enjoying a taste-test comparison of Hagen Daaz's   Caramel Gelato and Dulce de Leche ice cream.  The gelato is much smoother, but I think I prefer the texture of the ice cream.  Both are very sweet, almost too much...

Anyway, have a nice Sunday everyone, especially  Margo, who I hope is feeling better and enjoying some time with her OH.  Also hallo to George!

  • G'day:

    Tina: Hi there

    Alan: Good morning/evening to you.

Lindybird: That parking story was weird.

Heather: I know Lindybird's going somewhere soon; where are you off to (and how did I miss that info!).  :-)

Drizzle/light rain forecast here. Oh well, we'll take whatever we can get.

  • Hi! Got what we needed (and more – an early birthday present for me) at Farmers’ Market – and weather gave us a very pleasant drive there and back. Enjoyed mushroom soup for lunch, then tree surgeons arrived to behead the Willow, which had grown too well after a more delicate haircut last year. Birds are confused as they have lost familiar perches for the feeders there!

Heather – I am sure you are enjoying the grandchildren today – have a good evening with them.

Brenda – snow is forecast here or near during the weekend and Sunday, and we could see it on the hills beyond Lockerbie.

Clare – I hope you are able to relax over the weekend – Minsmere comes to mind!

Tina – good to see a post from you again. Ospreys are on their way, I believe!

Linda – we had a brief shower of hail too, just as tree guys arrived. It has turned much colder during the afternoon – like March this morning and back to January now!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

Funnily enough we're planning to go there tomorrow!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • We have had rain, snow, hail and even some sunshine. A clear sky now, promising a frosty night.

OG, I noticed the snow warnings for Scotland and parts of Wales and England, up to next Tuesday. Rain and gales for all of us from tomorrow. It certainly does feel cold outside tonight.
My daughter gave me a bowl of tulip bulbs and I guess the heating forced them, so I now have twelve tulips in flower. Hope your birds won't be too disappointed with your major pruning of the willow.
I hope you have put your present away until your Birthday LOL

Clare, Enjoy Minsmere tomorrow. Do wear some warm clothes :-))

Yup.  The last thing I need is a stinker of a cold - that'll guarantee I get a second interview, promptly!!

  • good evening Annette and OG, its good to be back, it is such a lovely forum.

  • I'll agree with that!

  • Brenda - present is on display for all to see! A Belted Galloway cow and calf standing jigsaw – I love the stuff this man makes (already got his Osprey, and have bought various gifts for others).

Clare and Limpy – have a great time tomorrow, but wrap up warm!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • ANNETTE - LINDY is off to the Canary Islands very shortly. OH and I are not going anywhere until May when we will spend a week in Brittany.

That's a brilliant present!  Very distinctive.
