Evening all:
Lindybird: Love those poppies - such a wonderful rich color. I love tulips that color too.
AQ: Glad you're feeling better; sorry about the heat.
Rita:The Epi doesn't usually bloom until June.....
Battling my way through this jigsaw, which is the hardest one I've ever done (although Van Gogh's Irises was pretty challenging). However, am packing it in now and enjoying a taste-test comparison of Hagen Daaz's Caramel Gelato and Dulce de Leche ice cream. The gelato is much smoother, but I think I prefer the texture of the ice cream. Both are very sweet, almost too much...
Anyway, have a nice Sunday everyone, especially Margo, who I hope is feeling better and enjoying some time with her OH. Also hallo to George!
Thanks for starting the new thread, Annette. That taste test sounds very yummy!
I didn't hear anything from last week's job interview so I'm assuming I was unsuccessful. I have two more interviews over the next two days so I sincerely hope something comes from one of them
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Good morning, all. Sunny, like yesterday. It was so sunny and warm that everyone was saying it must be spring. The craft fair was well attended, and we found a pretty box and a number of smaller items to put in it for GD’s birthday. We also enjoyed some lovely vegetable soup there, and then decided to venture on, to Gretna Gateway Outlet and get nuts and stuff from Holland and Barrett. I did really well walking, but stiffened up when I stood still while OH tried on a few jackets. However, he did find one we both like, and I also bought two casual tops.
Rita – although I don’t really follow the present-giving hype of valentine’s day, I loved reading about your special valentine Boxer friend for your Dalmation. Sorry about the shoulder being painful after the gardening; I hope you slept better last night and are resting it today.
Lindy – nice Poppy pics, especially the one with the Hare – I love wild flowers and Hares, which were all so much more common when I was young!
AQ – pleased that you are feeling better, and I hope the cough goes soon, not like the one here which hangs around for weeks after other symptoms subside. I hope your OH was not too tired from the extra nanny-shift to enjoy his birthday! I suppose J is the more mobile twin because she is so much smaller than L, but some babies just don’t seem to bother much with crawling and L might surprise you all one day!
Annette – thanks for starting our new week again. Maybe we shall hear from George today: he often does join in on a Sunday.
Clare – sorry you heard nothing from the first interview; not letting you know is so discourteous, and especially unexpected when they were good enough to provide a cup of tea! All the best for the two this week; are they both in Ipswich?
Margo – enjoy Sunday with your OH, and I hope you have a better week.
Won’t be doing a lot today, as I want to be sure I can get to church this evening. J is about to set out to morning service.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

By the way our thoughts are with Margo and George. Just to cheer you up we've got a beautiful song thrush serenading our neighbourhood - absolutely stunning in both sound and appearance!
Clare - when we lived in Ipswich, it was back before they built the big bridge, so you can imagine what it was like getting into or through town then!
A lovely sunny day after a misty start.
We have been clearing a shrub bed that we want to change. The roots were deeper than we thought they would be.
Margo is feeling a little better. Her blood pressure has improved.
Thanks Annette for starting yet another week. It must have been such a tiresome task, tasting the gelato versus the ice-cream LOL
Rita, I hope your shoulder has recovered. I loved your dog valentine gift story.
Clare, Don't give up hope of hearing from your first interview. Best wishes for this week's interviews.
George, You can see that we would love to hear from you. Is there any news about your SiL ?
OG, You obviously had a successful day's shopping at the craft fair and Gretna Green.
BRENDA - not Gretna Green - it was Gretna Gateway Shopping Outlet, on the edge of Gretna Township. Gretna Green is more tourist orientated!
MARGO - pleased to hear from BRENDA that you are improving. I hope you have been well enough to enjoy some of the weekend sunshine!
Thank you all for thinking of me as I try to get accustomed to living without Diesel. I miss him more in the mornings and at night when we used to sit and watch the tele together.
I have been surprised at how much the neighbours miss him as well and the grandson of my next door one brought me a snow mobile with a spaniel sitting in the middle of it.
I have decided to go up to my sons at the beginning of next month for a short break and as Scotrail are running their 55 club deal I get my return trip for £19 pounds. I like the train.
My SiL is still waiting to see when she will be going into hospital but she has been told to phone the surgeons secretary who should be able to give her a date.
I have been keeping up to date with whats been going on and I hope that Margo improves and Clare gets a job and everybody else keeps well.
