Evening all:
Lindybird: Love those poppies - such a wonderful rich color. I love tulips that color too.
AQ: Glad you're feeling better; sorry about the heat.
Rita:The Epi doesn't usually bloom until June.....
Battling my way through this jigsaw, which is the hardest one I've ever done (although Van Gogh's Irises was pretty challenging). However, am packing it in now and enjoying a taste-test comparison of Hagen Daaz's Caramel Gelato and Dulce de Leche ice cream. The gelato is much smoother, but I think I prefer the texture of the ice cream. Both are very sweet, almost too much...
Anyway, have a nice Sunday everyone, especially Margo, who I hope is feeling better and enjoying some time with her OH. Also hallo to George!
LOL, OG, Valentines day yesterday and you mention Gretna, easy to see that my mind was diverted :-)) Sorry.
George, So good to hear from you. A good idea to have a short break with your son and a bonus to be able to get a cheaper rail fare. I do hope your SiL hears about her operation date, very soon. The 'waiting' can be worse than the actual treatment. What a lovely thought of your neighbour's grandson to give you the spaniel mobile. It shows how much he thinks of you, as well as Diesel. Look after yourself. X
Linda, I can't wait to see your photographs. No doubt you now remember how active a pup can be, but then they do sleep to recharge their batteries :-)) I am sure part of you wanted to take her home today. It will be a wonderful feeling when your holiday is over and you know that you have your puppy, waiting for you to pick her up when you get home.
Quick look in here: Fog this morning - hurray!
George: Good that you're planning some time away. Just what you need. I love trains! Don't want to seem insensitive, but I'm sure there are lots of owner-less dogs out there who would just love to sit and watch telly with you. What a sweet gift from the neighbor's grandson! Best thoughts for your SiL.
Clare: I'd agree with Lindybird - there's still time to hear about that job. My last employer so long to fill positions that applicants often had other jobs by the time they made up their minds. Good luck with the upcoming interviews.
Lindybird: My OH has Windows 8 on his new computer; he got a book from the library on it: Windows 8.1 Plain and Simple (ha!). Anyway, he keeps renewing it... None of the new technological gizmos come with any printed instructions these days; it's all online.
OG: Sounds like a successful day out. So the pastor's visit did the trick and you're off to church this evening?
Brenda: Thanks for letting us know Margo is doing better.
Off to Do Stuff. Take care all.
Hello all and thanks ANNETTE!
GEORGE- Its not surprising that you are missing the companionship that Diesel gave you and my heart goes out to you. Good to see that you are going to spend time with your son. As BRENDA said, regarding your SiL, the waiting is often the worst part.
LINDY/ANNETTE When I got Windows Vista, aeons ago, I bought a book called Windows Vista for Dummies. Brilliant. I think (!) that I now have Windows 7. Like you, I rely on my son and son in law to help when I can't sort things out myself. They often phone me with culinary and medical queries so it all balances out:-))
Sorry not to make more chat. OH cataract is being done the day after tomorrow. He has been troubled recently by some gastric symptoms which are under investigation. He made a great recovery from colon cancer surgery eleven years ago but it's always at the back of his and my mind.Together with the bad news from various friends that I mentioned last week we are a bit low!
Take care, all x
PS Sorry, that sounded pathetic! Didn't mean it to. We are fine, just a blip and no more than everyone has from time to time!
Heather, We all worry, especially when it concerns our OH, children, family. Together with the various friends' bad news, you are going through a rough time. As you well know, gastric symptoms can be caused by many things. What would you have said to one of your patients at this stage :-)) You are not pathetic, but I would say you are deemed to be the strong one, who others lean on when they have problems. Look after yourself for once and of course your OH. XXX
Thanks LINDA for kind words and yes, the book did help!
I am so hoping that it is indeed anxiety that is affecting OH. It is hard to get him to talk about it. I am supposed to have some professional skills in that direction but they are sadly lacking at present!!!
BRENDA- Thank you, just caught your post before I close down for the night. I'm sure that all will settle down soon. You are right though! My OH often says 'why is everyone always phoning you and asking what they should do/cook/tell their children/ask their doctor etc etc? I think I'll take to sea in a beautiful pea green boat and land wherever the Owl and the Pussycat ended up LoL.
Night all
