I cannot find a new thread for Rutland 2015. Is that right?

TRANSFERRED OVER...
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Wow what a battle - very much like Blue 12 and Blue 24 last year at Dyfi
This battle sounds so much more fierce than the battle of Dyfi last year with three males battling for this piece of prime Osprey real estate.
Mary, I think you have hit the nail on the head with "victim of its own success". There is nothing more joyful than hearing of them returning and Rutland has a fantastic return rate but I think more nests are needed but I'm sure I read somewhere that even if there were numerous nests, the youngsters will still try for an established one.
Personally, I don't think it is over :-( And ... I really hope I am wrong!
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't 51 the grandson of 03?
Karen, There are more nest platforms available at Rutland. I think there are a few empty ones. I know that there is definitely an empty one at Lagoon 4 there.
Thanks Sandra - I never knew there were empty platforms - interesting.
Sadly it is probably not over Karen. They are obviously after an established nest, so this could go on and on at all the different nest sites in Rutland, the more returnees there are each year.
And it is possibly a battle for a female as well as the nest site. The returning RW females seem to favour Wales with three of them over that way!
Thank you Mary for the Link.(Phew!!! what a read)
What excellent reporting, and the Pictures absolutely stunning.
I do hope a second clutch can be produced, and that there is a successful outcome.
Thank you Team Rutland.
