Happy New Week all: OH and I are off to see The Imitation Game tonight, then will pick up dinner from our favorite Chinese restaurant on our way home.
Heather: You're not living a sheltered life, or if you are, we're all there with you (and happy to be so). Seems like bad language and a general lack of civility are endemic these days - it's so depressing. And to think the English language is so rich yet people have to use the "last resort" words first. :-(
Clare: My friend's daughter is a Downs Syndrome adult now and still needs supervision. It must be a huge worry, especially as parents age. Didn't know it could also mean heart problems as well.
Brenda: Hope the Quiz was fun.
Thanks all for posts! Take care.
We haven't had any yet but that is unusual. They eat our tulip bulbs unless OH hangs them in netting.

I saw a little wood mouse creep out among the bird food on the ground when no one else was around yesterday! I've never seen that before , I think he must live in the greenhouse close by.
OG Glad your visit to the Dentist went well. I went to the Physio in Dingwall this morning and had another steroid injection in to my knee. She is the best person I have seen so far, very helpful and gave me new (and better) exercises for my knee and shoulder. I think though that I am on the way to having to get a new knee although I would like to keep the old one as long as possible.
Awful weather here at the moment, I was battling my way through cold wind and sleet in to Tesco's when I met a man coming out in flip/flops and flowery tropical shorts!!!
By the way, I always change the sheets the day before going on holiday but it does mean using them for one night!
Margo - Hope the chemo goes alright for you. Glad that you were able to help OH with the housework, he must be pleased that you are feeling so much better.
A very wet and windy day here, which is to continue until tomorrow. Guess who had a hairdressing appointment at 9am !! Came out of the hairdressers and then went shopping. I couldn't find quite a few things that I normally buy in Waitrose. Went bowling this afternoon.
OG, i sometimes change the bedding, the day before we go away, but if I have time, I do strip the bed on the day we leave and put fresh bedding on the bed. I then try to wash and tumble dry the bedding taken off the bed, plus our night clothes and what we wore the day before :-)) Like Heather, I also run around with the vacuum cleaner and clean/ dry the shower. It all depends what time we are due to leave home. LOLGlad you are catching all your garage woodmice. Have you found their nest yet ?We once found a nest in one of OH's old wellingtons.
Margo, I hope all goes well with your chemo this week. Like yourself, I am not looking forward to Wednesday / Thursday's storm. This is one of the occasions I do not appreciate having the wood, with very tall trees, near to the house. I hope you don't get any flooding from tonight / tomorrow's warning.
AQ, Being a grandmother must be wonderful, but having to carry such weights seems to be taking it's toll on you. I presume that neither of the twins will go to sleep in the pram if you go for a walk. My son would always go to sleep if OH took him for a drive in the car. ( as a last resort ) I do remember how bad it can become though.
Rita, Keep your own knee as long as you can, especially as the steroid injections are working. I wonder how cold that fellow in the shorts and flip-flops really felt. He must have been wearing them as a bet /dare, surely.
Linda, I look forward to hearing what dog breed you are going to get. Very exciting.
I see there is plenty of further snow forecast for Scotland, which then starts spreading further south. Take care and keep warm and safe.
BRENDA - I don't know how you can do all that before setting off: I only just fit in breakfast washing up, shower, last minute personal packing, supervising loading of car and checking house security, and we never get away before 10am!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
It isn't a lot of work when you think about it, OG. the washing machine does the washing and the tumbler does the drying. OH always packs the car, sometimes the night before. The proper hoovering and cleaning is all done in the days before and I just re-hoover quickly, what appears necessary. I see Heather manages to do the same.
Well, talking about packing and holidays, I have just booked online,to see my darling old brother in France. Actually he is only 66, younger than me but every time we speak on the phone in the evening he is yawning and talking about going to bed!
We will be stuck in Gatwick for a few hours, both outbound and inbound but that is because I chose the cheapest flights. We are well used to this, just get a comfyish seat and read our books and newspapers. We go for lunch and drag it out as long as possible and think about all the money we are saving Lol
Add me to the list of people who clean house before they go away, but I usually change the beds a day or three before - wouldn't be up at 5 a.m. vacuuming, etc. a la Heather!
AQ: Was just reading something on the BBC website and saw a link to AMBA - Australian Multiple Birth Association, which offers links to local groups, including this one in Prospect (Adelaide) http://multiplebirthsa.org.au/ Maybe your daughter knows about it, but it might be another source of support for you all.
Oh, well, I am a sub-standard housewife and mother - but I think I already knew that! Anyway, OH does the cleaning and bed-changing here!
