THE LG OSPREY GABFEST for JANUARY, 2015

With this lovely video, I will say farewell to 2014 and welcome to 2015.  Also best wishes for a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous year for all our Forum and Gabfest friends as well as all our feathered friends, especially EJ and Odin and their 2015 family.

The great-horned-owl took a few extra clicks, but yes I did get it and will add to favorites.

  • JUNE - Up Helly Aa is always held on the last Tuesday in January.

Here is a beginners guide for you - UP HELLY AA

  • JUNE - Than "Stuffed Toy" is actually sat at perch in the banana plantation and has been since October.

No new ospreys for the children just a few gifts in my luggage - they get the next osprey installment Autumn 2015.

I am sure this stuffed toy will do his spring migration along with me - he flies very quickly.

Out before daylight from Edinburgh to Paris to Douala (Cameroon)(Lots of Ospreys winter here I presume from Finland - Alan P follows one that winters here)then a very short hop to Malabo.

  • June- I have ordered many items, including books from overseas and have had no problems with any of them. I just received Emyr's book and it is lovely. We do pay a premium on the shipping, but so far I have received everything in perfect condition.

  • Now I'm feeling less confused and MORE BETRAYED.  How did I get the idea that UP HELLY AA is a celebration of the shortest day of the year a nd the beginning of longer daylight time?  and a fitting celebration it is too.  I didn't just dream it up.

I checked out my post back in December and apparently I just need to read the fine print on my sources. But I had remembered it as a celebration of return of daylight not some outdated Newyears celebration.  What a disappointment.

Thanks for getting me sorted out, Keith.

Wanna BET, Keith??  I bet OSCAR ( if that is who you are talking about) has been out and about catching a daily quota of fish and maybe even had an eye out for a birdie or two.

But won't  Oscar be mad at you for calling him a "stuffed toy"?  He certainly went into a major sulk when I referred to him that way.  But since you follow him around and take his picture and probably tell him what a clever osprey he is, maybe he will forgive you.

  • We have a "white out" at Ithaca.

A nice Ruffed Grouse at Ontario this morning.

LOL Ladies,  Thanks for your efforts in my behalf.  I went to the Dyfi Facebook page and found nothing useful, so I'll just sit back and let y'all carry on.   :)

June, here is the link for buying the book! (It is through a book company.) THEY ARE NOT SOLD OUT!

  • The scene at Ithica is shifting as I watch with snow falling heavily.  one section will be misty, then quite sharp, then covered.  The feeders are very busy at the moment, with one bird in flight in the upper right corner.
