I don't know whether Annette will return to the site tonight or not, so I'm starting the Daily Update thread for Monday, March 29, 2010. The LG nest is empty. I assume that EJ is still roosting in a nearby tree. It's not yet dawn at LG.
Judging by the length and slimness of the fish. It looks like a pike to me.
Alan Thank you. I am not good on identifying fish.
Tiger Signature
Was about to say she has a Pike - I see Alan got there first!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Just came on and thrilled to see EJ eating. Also the light covering of snow on the nest seems to be melting in that little bit of sunshine.
Did anyone see that fish wriggle?????
Everything in life is speaking in spite of its apparent silence.
That poor fish still alive after all this time!!!!!
Normal 0 false false false
Yes, I saw the fish flap twice Tish . Made my comment on page 2 . I’m trusting it was just the nervous system reacting and not the fish still alive !!!!!
Tiger—great stuff !! Many thanks for the very informative link
OG and Alan Thanks for the info re the fish. I'm not very good at spotting what type of fish and like to learn. I think I'd recognise a brown trout.
EJ's taking a long tme to eat it , isn't she? Well over a half hour - wish I'd timed the start.
Hi everyone. Thanks for the notice on the sandstorms, Diane.Tiger: Brilliant quote about the "back issues" LOLjsb: Thanks for the met office link. Thanks for identifying the fish, Alan. I'm just a couple of rungs up the ladder from the guy who when asked: "Name a fish begining with 'S'?", answered: "Single".Thanks for the fantastic posts everyone. Great stuff. :-)I get the feeling EJ's looking for some company at lunch time.
Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Aptly put Paul. She certainly looks like a lady in waiting.
Hello Heron 77 lovely capture of our EJ and good to see the snow has disappeared for now at least but I feel sure she is going to have cold nights this week.
Love your jokey way.
