I don't know whether Annette will return to the site tonight or not, so I'm starting the Daily Update thread for Monday, March 29, 2010. The LG nest is empty. I assume that EJ is still roosting in a nearby tree. It's not yet dawn at LG.
The nest is still empty. It doesn't look like the snow on the nest is burning off in the morning sun. I hope this is the last of it for the season. I would think that lingering snow would make it difficult to keep eggs viable.
AQ: Vanilla lattes are a heavenly combination of espresso, steamed milk, vanilla syrup, and milk froth.
Hi all: Just in from train ride - Diane thanks for starting the new day. I'm going straight to bed without passing "Go" - will check posts in the a.m. Night all.
EJ is back. She looks more lively now. Some head bobbing and neck stretching.
EJ is back on the nest. I missed her return.
Early light and a dusting of snow......temp in Aviemore currently is 28F, -1C

Diane Thank you very much for starting this thread. I missed the word tonight and thought that for some odd reason Annette had left the site. Oh that would be a shock.
Tiger Signature
EJ shook her feathers violently to remove the frost, and then she had a poop. She now appears to have settled in for a morning of earnestly scanning the skies. This Indiana owl has to roost, so I'm turning this thread over to the day shift. There was no sign of any other ospreys during the couple of hours that I have observed the nest.
Tiger: LOL. No, I think Annette will be back.

Diane That is a relief. The shock was palpable! Reminds me of a comment from many years ago. It was "I never had such a shock since my good wife burned my back issues of "Big and Bouncy" "
