WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2014

Hi all, welcome to the new week.

  • Hello all -  Lindybird. Glad to see that Matthew has improved a little, hope he will be back to full health soon, am thinking of you.

Weather really awful, was very glad to get home from Dingwall yesterday, felt really battered by wind, rain/sleet etc!  dentist check-up went ok, nothing wrong  thank goodness.   I have another appointment with the physiotherapist next Tuesday to have a steroid injection in my shoulder which is very painful at the moment, it hurts to do almost anything!      Today it has been sleet/rain nearly all day and very dark.  We have not had any snow, which was forecast ,but they have had  a lot on the A9 South of Inverness.      I have only just been able to get online again, I have been trying all day, I do not know what was wrong.   Hoping the weather will be a bit better tomorrow so that I can go to buy my Christmas Tree, could'nt face it yesterday with all the sleet!  It is one of my favourite moments of Christmas, I really begin to feel Christmassy once I get the Tree home.    I will not put it up though until about the 20th, I like to save that for close to Christmas and my family arriving.

Hope every one is well and beginning to really enjoy the Season!

  • Survived y'day - showers aplenty of hail, sleet and snow - latter down to sea level today and very cold. The wind was a nuisance as was the continuous thunder and lightening - which went on into the early morning hours of today. Never remember the T&L lasting so long before - always seems to have been for a short while and then moves off to another area.

OG - FW itself had a power cut, but I live just outside and our electricity supply comes from Spean Bridge area and we were not affected.

Annette - noticed you also had difficulty accessing the site last night/ early morning - the message displayed seemed to indicate that my access code/password had not been accepted - wondered what I had done wrong!!!

Lindy - hope all goes well with your grandson.

  • RITA and LIZ - pleased you both came through the storm okay.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Lurker here...

Hope little Mathew continues to thrive .

Not very Christmasy here as OH can't lift for a few months more so solid oak furniture can't be moved to accommodate tree.. So lights are scattered elsewhere but not the same.

Haircut today and had to move a mound of snow to get car from garage.. on return had to move more snow to close garage door .

Our distillery has a new all singing and dancing tractor to move snow from our road ( it's a private one) sadly it seems no one knows how to drive it!!!

  • Thank you for letting us know about Matthew, Linda. I really do hope, and will continue to pray, that he will continue to improve. So glad that you were able to let Tomasz see his Mum and Dad. He must be confused. Take care X

  • Good to hear from you, Rita, Liz and Wendy. The storm did sound atrocious and I am so pleased to hear that you are fine. Sorry about you having to clear the snow, Wendy. The roads must have been bad to drive on.

OG, I noticed that you are included in a warning for snow and icy roads. I hope EE and J take care. I don't blame you for not wanting to get wet again this evening. No problems at the opticians. I don't need new specs. OH's new glasses cost a fortune, as usual, and they don't think he will get them before Christmas.

  • LINDY- great news about little Matthew xx So good to read.

Have read all posts, can't reply just now as dealing by phone with a couple of family things. Nothing too serious just requires diplomacy lol

  • HeatherB so know the feeling youngest has just moved and I feel I have moved and emptied every box with her... Spooky that ad I am 600 miles away:-) ..

  • Sorry to hear that some of you are experiencing bad snow etc. Take Care. I'll try to explain, as I've not had time till now: Matthew is in hospital and his worried Mum is with him as she is breastfeeding him. (He has been so poorly that sometimes she has not been allowed to hold him and has given the nurses her milk to tube feed him). Obviously, she is also missing Tomasz and he is confused by all the comings and goings of everyone. His dad has not been going into work but needs us to provide a stable home environment, and to babysit as he spends hours at the hospital each day. Matthew seems to be improving but its very slow & now we have no idea as to how long this will go on. I'm sure they won't let him leave hospital until they are sure he is ok.
  • PS I'm sleeping very well even though its a strange bed, as I go to bed exhausted LOL!!
