Hi all, welcome to the new week.
Day started with "normal" wind and rain, then rainshowers turned to occasional snowshowers - wet snow, but sticking on grass and undisturbed places. OH has gone to Asda this side of Carlisle - I was supposed to go too, later to include lunch, but I really need time to do "me things" at home, and am tired of eating out - especially as we have a Christmas Lunch to attend tomorrow. J is accompanying children to a Panto today, during school.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good Morning ALL. Dry and windy this morning, but gales and heavy rain this evening and overnight.
Pleased to see that the wave surges didn't do any of the forecast damage, OG. I admire the coast guards, who had to go out and rescue that Spanish ship. I noticed on this mornings forecast that there were snow showers due for you. I was intrigued by them calling the storm as a 'bomb'.I still enjoy seeing a Panto, so I would love to join J today.
I hope that Matthew has improved today, Linda.
We, both have appointments with the optician this afternoon.
BRENDA - sunshine and full blue sky right now: a real Scottish weather day! Hope optician visit goes well, and your OH will get his new glasses for Christmas!
Just seen that cross border traffic the eastern end of the border (A68) was badly affected by overnight snow. OH had no trouble getting to Carlisle and back over the western end of the border, although he said there were snow showers over the River Esk on both journeys.
Hello all
We didn't really suffer with weather, a bit windy yesterday and sleet this morning. About 2.5 now according to our weather station!! Outside of town is a different story. I hope that RITA managed her trip to Dingwall with no problems.
Thinking about little Matthew. It really is scary when these tiny babes become ill.
MARGO Take it easy during this chemo week xx
OH will be 84 on Sunday. We are having a family get together here at lunchtime. Not a sit down meal, just nibbles and drinks.
Enjoy the rest of the day, folks-
Quick look in to say couldn't get on the site at all last night; got the same message they posted when they were working on it recently. Back later to catch up; off to meet friend for light breakfast and then home before the next storm arrives this afternoon.
I hoped we would have heard from Linda by now - I keep thinking of wee Matthew. I do hope he is doing well.
Matthew showing sign of slight improvement this afternoon - we have not visited but took Tomasz to be met by his Daddy, and to go & see his Mummy this afternoon. Nearly got lost but finally found the very busy car park, thanks to Mrs Satnav!
LINDA - thanks for good news - especially pleased that Tomasz could go and see his Mummy. Thoughts and prayers continue - keep us up-to-date if you can.
No more snow, but that was mostly a very wet afternoon! I haven't gone to the Carol Service - sent OH and J together, OH driving J's car. There are things I want to finish at home, but my real reason was not wanting to get wet between house and car and then car and school and so on..., although they say it will be drier and less cloudy, and therefore colder here tonight.
