Happy New Week all.
Succeeded in sticking one insert in upside down - well, nobody's perfect! Good night!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Annette - Miss3 is small so there is plenty of room on he end of her bed for Dog . . . and a dozen or so other (much smaller) toys. She takes after her mother who adopted soft toys.
WA trip cont. During a stop at the Gunyulgup Gallery near Yallingup, I wandered the grounds capturing the sculptures. Friend found a pair of Splendid Fairy Wrens posing & foraging. Amazing colour. More pics HERE
Down to the coast to Canal Rocks, then Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse on the most SW tip of Aussieland where the Indian & Southern Oceans meet. Then on to Busselton, the day was rather bleak & windy. A planned visit to the underwater observatory was cancelled as it was too stormy, water too murky. However we were able to travel on the wee jetty train. Busselton jetty stretches over a mile into shallow Geographe Bay. Last commercial ship 1971, now a heritage-listed tourist attraction.
LOLOL OG
AQ: Those Fairy Wrens are really striking. Glad to hear Miss3 has a ways to go before she has to boot her dogs off the bed. :-)
AQ - more striking architecture and sculptures, and beautiful nature - loved those bright blue Wrens, and the seascapes. That was a very intensive trip - no wonder you returned exhausted!
Got to face the ironing board again today, but only a few items, then I might get a letter started to go in with many of the Christmas cards - a general one and then personalise later. I also have to order a Star Wars tee shirt for a not-quite-grown-up twenty-something grandson!
AQ We have some wonderful beaches here. Dornoch is very nice, but St Ninians is so very special. There are also some amazing beaches on the north coast and usually deserted.
Good morning all and have not posted as things are so quiet here at the moment. Pleased to,say we have not had any rain for a couple od days and back garden lawn drying out a bit just in time for the next lot to arrive over the next few days. OH enjoyed meeting up with his Mum and Brother for her birthday and it would have been good to be with both her sons.
I have some teddies which are permanent residents, Paddingon Bear and also a Harrods teddy. Also have a few other animals which I will always keep. Had to have a big sort out as there were just too many taking up space on the bed and I gave them to a charity shop.
diane thinking of you as I imagine you could be snowed in. Hope you are well stocked up with food and keeping warm. Cannot believe the pictures we are seeing on our news.
Brenda what a lovely surprise to find your daughter and her boyfriend waiting for you. I know how you enjoy being with them. Guess you you will be picking another day to do some Christmas shopping. Hooe you enjoyed bowls.
rita we enjoy the Panto but won't be going this year as we are not keen on who are in it. We might look around for an amateur production.
AQ enjoying your ongoing trip reports and photos. The Fairy Wrens are gorgeous. Lovely pic of Miss3 with that enormous dog, it is as big as her but as OG says the eyes are a bit unnerving.
Lynette a lot of my shopping is done on-line, so easy and what I do like is that books are in pristine condition not having been thumbed through as they are in shops. Great captures from Pete's Pond and the eagle nest. There are quite a few eagle cams live now and thevweather in thevUS coukd be a bit of a worry. Hope you enjoy the Harry Potter day.
Annette you seem to be having a busy time in the garden rearranging things. Have your temperatures been lower than usual as it seems most of th US is caught up with freezing temperatures. They are already saying there could be a lot of flooding if and when it melts. You must be pleased with yourself on writing your Christmas cards.
OG I can't keep up with you just lately, you are so busy and I hope you are not overdoing things. Sorry J was unwell but good to read he is feeling better now. Had to smile about your moment regarding Christmas card insert being upside down. As far as I can see you are perfect in all departments.
Have a good day all and take care.
Sorry I haven't been posting lately. Today I have nothing arranged, but we do need to go food shopping. Tomorrow we have an early start as OH has a hospital appointment at 9.30am and it takes about an hour and a half to drive there.Just been watching the news and seeing the latest snow pictures from America. It certainly looks horrendous. I do hope Diane is ok with plenty of food in her home. I presume Annette has also seen some snow as they say that 50 states have had snow. When we came out of the restaurant on Tuesday, there was a very heavy hail storm with thunder and lightning. You can imaging all the ladies, in their finery, dashing across the car park to get in the cars for shelter. LOL OH is waiting, with his coat on, so I must go shopping !!
Woops - had a sticky note on my desktop and still forgot! Belated Birthday Wishes for CLARE 18th November - I hope you had a wonderful day! Haven't seen a post from you in ages - I hope all is well with the three of you.
Hello Everyone - Dull day again but warm and no wind. Did nothing much yesterday but some ironing and odd jobs. Today I am going to order some Christmas presents, etc., on the internet which seems to take ages, (trying to make up my mind about things).
Congratulations to those who have written their Christmas cards, I have not even ordered mine yet.
AQ - Loved the picture of Miss3 with that enormous dog. I was very interested in the pictures of the Kangaroo Paw plants, I have'nt seen them before, they seem to come in so many different colours.
Diane - I do hope you are not too deep in snow and have plenty of food stocks in.
Brenda- lovely surprise for you meeting with your Daughter and Boyfriend, so now you will have to do your shopping another day!
