Good morning, all! Welcome to the new day and the new week. I hope it goes positively for you all.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
32 C today and even higher next few days. Bushfire alerts already as we are also expecting drying north winds. Scary when the fire ban season starts so early. I have changed my mind about seeking churches & old buildings in the Adelaide Hills – not a good place to be wandering if one doesn’t know the roads.
Good morning, all! Margo, my fingers are crossed you make it to the ballet today - I do hope the latest bout of sickness passes quickly.
Lindy, do I recall you live near Tatton Park? You might want to check out this thread as there are some fantastic pictures on it.
Good Morning Everyone. A warm dry morning after overnight rain. Rain due back late afternoon.
Have been exchanging texts with daughter as she waits for her flight to Chicago, where she has to change flights, on her way to Ann Arbor for a work/ observation trip at the hospital / university. She hates having to wait around departure lounges and so keeps sending me messages.
OG, Well done on your marathon posts last night. You must be so pleased that the curtain poles are now in situ. Hope the new curtains are not going to take much longer to arrive. You must have had a late dinner last night. I did laugh about the late inclusion of the bacon.I hope your back is not too tender. Re having a shower, my OH was told that he was not to let any water or soap near his eye for four weeks after his op. You can imagine the fun we had, especially when washing his hair.We haven't had the water turned off again, but we were met with brown water this morning. We had to run the taps for a while to get rid of it.
AQ, It doesn't sound good for you, with the temperatures and fire warnings already. Sorry you feel you have to cancel your Adelaide trip but it does sound the most sensible decision.
Linda, Hope you are coping with all your worries. I hope today is one of good news for you.
Margo, I noticed that you already have the heavy rain this morning, so Billie won't want to go outside again. Enjoy the ballet.
Good Afternoon everyone have been lurking again but this is a bad time of year for me and to make things worse my youngest cousin died at the age of only 57 so I had the funeral on Wednesday and have another funeral on Monday as a cousin of my late wife died last week as well.
I have also had a visit from son and his wife for a few days as they wanted to go and see something in Edinburgh and its cheaper to stay with me and get the train across than to stay in an hotel but I love to have them as they are going down to Norwich for CH*****.
Last night the other coiusins decided to have a night together to talk about all that has happened recently and we talked that much that it was half past one before I got home.
Margo I hope you feel well enough to go to the ballet, OG hope that you keep better and your daughter gets thing sorted out about her house. How is Limpy getting on with his Minsmeer safaris?
Hope everyone else is keeping well and the weather is kind to us all
