It was 5 years, incidentally - your eyes must be nearly as bad as mine!
The thing is, under this Facebook system and using this instance as an example, when we reply to a long-ago post, anyone clicking on "latest post..." in the thread list will be taken to it and then have to click thru 5 years' worth of "View mores" to get to the last post
