Technical test thread 2022

I thought I might bump up this thread which goes back to 2011 (it's been bumped before) and was started by the wonderful Tiger

It contains all sorts of useful info on technical problems, handy hints for inserting photos and links and, latterly, the fact that we seem to get 'notifications' that we can't get rid of (I'm up to 6).

If nothing else, another trip down memory lane.

    I can't work out how to link to specific pages on the previous technical test thread sorry so I'm going to post some advice here:
    MAKING POSH LINKS (this was Karen's from 2019 I think....there may be other examples natch)

    Click on Rich Formatting to post
    Highlight text you wish to add posh link to
    Click on Ctrl + K and Link Box will appear (you can also select insert/link)
    URL: paste in the URL
    Target: select new window if required
    Click OK

    Thank you, I have 99 notifications going back several years. I cannot get rid of them whatever I do.

    I suddenly feel quite lucky here ...only 2 impossible to delete notifications,,, .even if they have been stuck for 2 years

    This is my pile 

    I don't have my account set up to send email notifications, so they are irrelevant to me, but you would think there would be some way to clear them. 

    I suppose if you unticked all the boxes, then no notifications would show.

    Yes to to you all! That's what i had to do- spend ages ticking them all in, stages After I had chaged my choice to not be notified.....which can have its downside too. 99 could be only the beginning of a very long job :) That's if you feel like it. ;)
