Checked the date twice this time round.
Here's to a pleasant new week all.
Good morning all-
It's coldish here and so I have just put the heating on. Our visitor from Canada has arrived, he is a lovely guy and very chatty so last evening passed in a flash.
I am glad that LINDY is on the mend and hope that OG Will soon recover from the flu. Sorry though that EE and J may be succumbing.
Thanks to all for pics and chat, it was good to catch up with your news.
I'm not sure what our plans are for today, it depends how tired Dave is after his flights yesterday. Last time he was here coincided with a short trip that we had planned so we took him with us. This time I think that a couple of short drives plus a day out with my eldest daughter on Saturday will be all we can offer. Did I mention that OH has received his renewed driving licence?
S's old house is looking very lonely and the garden is dreadfully wild. After the first rush of activity there has been nobody near it for ages.
I'd better get going. I hope that you are getting some cooler weather,ANNETTE.
Hi to everyone x
Chilly here this morning but bright:-)
Lindy our vet is leaning towards a deep seated eat infection that ABs haven't managed to clear up. Daisy does have a perforated ear drum so quite possible. She only has little wobbly moments now and it looks as though she is disorientated. A long trip early start but luckily she loves the car and strangely the vets as well.
My little Roe deer visits back wild garden every day now and it seems she has a fawn. It must have grown as just peeks over the undergrowth now.
Good Morning ALL, Much chillier here this morning. The fog has cleared and the sun is burning through. After the chaos of yesterday, picking up the new trellis and batons, the fence man can't come today as his oil tank has sprung a leak and he now has to arrange for a new one to be installed today. He goes on holiday tomorrow for two weeks !!! The new garden door will take four weeks to be made. The tree people are finally clearing the trees that they felled in next door's garden, so the chainsaws have been going since early. The trees were cut down on the first May bank holiday weekend. Anyhow I did manage to get to the hairdresser. She did cut off more than I wanted, because she said my hair grows too quickly. I am trying to let it grow but I have layers that need to grow down.
I had my photograph taken yesterday as my passport needs renewing. Oh dear, it is even worse than the previous one. It doesn't do anything for my ego :-))
Wendy, Sorry about Daisy- May. My niece's dog had, what sound like a similar problem, but after a long time of investigations, they finally found that his ear infection was being caused by his teeth. He kept walking sideways, like a crab, shaking his head and falling over. He was kept at a vet's university in the Midlands for a couple of weeks, and when he returned home, my niece was asked to video him when he walked, for at least a month. She finally stopped using them as she felt she was helping their research but not her dog. She lives on the Wirral, so she asked for help from the Liverpool University, who decided it was his teeth causing the problem. Her dog is now nearly 18 so is wobbly on his legs anyhow, but he still needs antibiotics every so often for his remaining few teeth as they don't want to operate on him anymore, now. His teeth look fine but cause infections to his ears and sinus.
Apologies for such a long absence but last round of chemo proved very challenging with regard to eating and drinking, two weeks before I really felt like eating a little. OH's Mum came down to see us over the weekend and we did manage to get out for a bit of sightseeing and a couple meals in favourite pubs in The New Forest where I could just have a sandwich. Very daunting thought that the next round of chemo starts again in just under a couple of weeks. Seeingthe consultant a week today so fingers crossed that things are reasonable with regard to blood counts. I have no other choice so have to continue with the treatment and hope that I will not feel like this every time.
OH's Mum enjoyed herself and it was nice to spend time with her. The taxi driver came early to pick her up on Friday morning to take her to the coach and in her haste she forgot her make up and her mobile phone. She always makes herself up even if she is just popping out for a newspaper. Has always looked after herself and her skin is in very good condition so it has paid dividends. OH took her to a couple of supermarkets but she only uses Estée Lauder which of course the don't stock. Said we would take to Debenhams Saturday morning but she said no as she had just stocked up before she came. The mobile phone was not a problem as she hates it and despite OH and his brother trying to help she has never got the hang of. When she does take it out she never has it switched on anyway. In all, other aspects she is as bright as a button but has a real block with mobiles. She will be 85 this year but you would never think so.
Unfortunately OH went down with a really heavy cold with a hacking cough on Sunday He said it had been hanging around for a few days. The coughing has been dreadful at night keeping us all awake. Made him take it easy yesterday and he does seem a little better today. Has gone to work as the are really busy but said he would come home if he felt it was too much. Keeping our fingers crossed that I manage to avoid it as it could interfere with the chemo treatment in 2 weeks.
Thanks to all who always give me a mention, always appreciated. Thanks also for the pics that have posted. Always enjoy looking through them.
Just a few mentions:
Lindybird so sorry you have been so poorly. Hope you are feeling a lot better than you were.
OG so sorry to see you have the flu and OH and J now have the symptoms. Take care if yourselves. Thanks for the email will reply soon.
Wendy poor Daisy Mae, hope they be able to find out what the problem is.
Heather pleased to see the driving licence issue is sorted. Do enjoy the time with your visitor.
Brenda congratulations to your daughter, will ring soon.
Annette hope your weather has cooled down a lot.
Diane always good to see you.
For the first time we had to out the heating on this morning as it as rather chilly. Billie obviously thought so as she only went out for a short time, came in again and has been asleep ever since.
Going to finish now as I lost this post the first time.

Wendy, I should have mentioned first, that I am glad to hear that your OH has a date for his pre-op before his operation in late October. A worrying wait for you both and I do hope all will be fine.
Annette, I seemed to have missed that you have planned a trip to New York. I wouldn't be too sure what to plan for somebody I hadn't seen for decades. You can't be sure how they, or even their diets, may have changed.
Linda, Love your goat photographs. Surprised to read that you couldn't even finish a cup of tea, yesterday, as I know that you love your cuppa in the morning. Hope the optician doesn't mean expensive new specs.
OG, Sorry you have passed on your flu germs to EE and J. I have never actually had the flu but I have heard how weak you can feel with it, and your body aches, as well as the normal symptoms. Wish I was nearer to help you all. Do take care and look after yourselves.
Lynette, Well done on winning the quiz.
Heather, So glad that your OH has received his renewed driving licence. We haven't succumbed to putting the CH on yet, although I was tempted this morning. One thing is for sure, Dave will be fed very well by you and he will be so happy to be staying with you.
The sky is cloudy and my washing is hanging limply on the line. Not even a breeze.
Margo, So good to see that you feel able to post. Sorry that you weren't able to enjoy a small meal at the restaurant but great that you managed to leave the house. Sorry your OH has a heavy cold. Maybe you will have to exile him to a spare bedroom :-))
Limpy, Lovely photographs of your wren. How did your deer tours go at Minsmere ? I am sure it was a success and most enjoyable, both for you and the visiting people.
Thanks for doggie info Brenda and yes that's exaxtly what Daisy does.... My lovely vet is convinced it's Vestibular which would be a better outcome than fits or strokes.
OH has private medical insurance and could have been treated earlier but that would have meant 10 days in Glasgow so he opted for a wait and 10 days in Elgin.
Margo nice to hear from you.
Just back from Aberlour and walking past the fishing tackle shop saw a door mat for Heather ..."A fisherman and a normal person live here".
