How can it be September; it was only just July......
Thunder & lightning overnight, clear this morn when I parked 2 tomatoes in the veggie patch. Not much prep – treat ’em like weeds and they will thrive? I brought 4 boxes of books in from garage but didn’t have the heart to cull as I thought I may just read this one and that one once more . . . and I don’t have time. Then spent the afternoon checking what to see on the free afternoons in Perth & Albany. Tomorrow I have promised to help Dau2 for a couple of hours as her nanny leaves early Wed pm. My To-Do-Before-I-Go list is shrinking – except for the book cull <sigh> How did I ever have time to watch bird cams in previous years?
Good Morning Everyone. Annette, Pleased to see that your favourite yoga instructor was available yesterday, but not surprised that you were so tired, after having done so much HW. I am playing bowls this afternoon so I am only doing essential HW this morning. 'Life' has prevented me from playing much this season, so I will probably not play very well. AQ, Forget the boxes of books. They can wait until you return home. That is a job we still need to do. Far too many books but we do hate to part with them. Lynette, Lovely osprey pics. I have been looking in, on the Hog Island camera.Linda, Yesterday must have been such a lovely day for you. I hope your other son's partner is ok. She must be due to give birth in a matter of weeks. Looking forward to seeing your photographs.
OG, Hope you are not still feeling under par or are you enjoying your garden ?
Millicent is now in Mauritania ( Richard's new blog, this morning )
The Hunt Sabs know the rules, the police know the rules, so why do the Tory sponsored shooters not know them?
"In Gloucestershire at about Midnight, a couple of experienced hunt sabs came across this badger trapped in a cage, just as they approached other people were spotted nearby. The cull team. A tense stand off then went on for some time before police arrived on the scene.
Sabs quickly sought legal advice from someone who has read and re-read the best practice guidelines and then informed police that the badger had to be released for two reasons:
cage trapped badgers are to be shot between dawn and noon.
shooters must release trapped badgers if third parties are on the scene.
The police did the right thing and we congratulate them for enforcing the guidelines, they got the shooters to leave the area and then the police released the badger."
Thanks ALAN I am devastated that there are still doing this
after last year's independent report They seem to have their ears blocked against vacination
BRENDA - both! I was strangely ill yesterday morning, but okay afterwards. We are enjoying the gardening when not too busy with other things. Going to get checked out by GP Friday, before our little visit to Inverness next Sunday through Wednesday.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
LINDY what a lovely pic of the Goldie and kitten. The gentlest of dogs
