Happy New Week all.
Just in case you are unaware Millie has reached Africa. No blog but GE has been updated.
OG, That is good news that your daughter now knows she will shortly have a temporary home for the six months, until her own is repaired. I wonder will she move back into the house, or put it straight on the market, for sale.
AQ, I have enjoyed your photographs and descriptions. It is a pity that they don't reuse the trains to transport freight across the country and so reduce the road transport. We have the same problem here and in a much smaller country. There have been talks to use the canals more and to send more freight by train but nothing seems to be happening. The goods vehicles just seem to be getting bigger and bigger.
Lynette, Good to hear you are still managing to go for a swim. Enjoy your quiet weekend.
It has been quite humid today, with low cloud. We went to watch a bowls match and the players were finding it too clammy and warm.
Very good news about Millicent, Alan. Thank you
EDIT ( Just looked at her journey. Beyond my understanding, how such a young osprey manages such a journey. Fantastic. )
BRENDA - daughter thinks she will know before the work is completed whether she can return to her home, or whether it has to be sold. Re rail freight: there is more going through on the west coast main line these days: Stobart are particularly keen to use rail where possible. But I agree that road transport is too heavy and too much.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG, Thanks for the Stobart news. I can remember when the children were young, they had books from' Eddie Stobart', which listed the truck names, which were always on the front of the cabs, and they would tick off the names as they spotted them, mostly on the motorways.
