The day is dawning mistily on what will probably be the first osprey-free day of the scintillating 2014 LG season. Has Odin departed? Surely he has.
IMAGICAT
Sheila, Tiger and ChloeB, I agree. If Richard's report is accurate (and there's no reason to believe this is not the case), the data seems questionable.

I brought this subject up last year and was politely reminded of all the 'positive' reasons why tagging is beneficial and carried out - but I'm with you on this one and always will be. Ring by all means but tagging just seems wrong and to me handicaps the birds while they are still learning about life....
Good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment
Just catching up with what has been happening today and have just read the latest blog.
Although it is on a sad note, these things happen and it will be right to wait for the next data input to see if things are confirmed or it has been a blip in recording. Yes, it will be a sad note to end on for the team but they must also rejoice in what has been acheived this season and hopefully Millie and Druie will go on to migrate successfully. I, for one, am in favour of tracking . Look what has been achieved on other species and not just ospreys.
Lets just wait until the next data intake to see what has happened and stay positivie.
