Well that was relatively painless :-)
We have lost our crystal clear nest, the fuzz started yesterday evening. I'd love to know why.
No confirmation of any "losses" yet (we had a false alarm about Seasca - we didn't see her all day but LG posted a lovely photo of her drooping in the rain), but it can't be long before the first of our birds starts out on its (probably "her") long and perilous journey south. The juvies must be as strong as oxes... or oxen, even, but that doesn't sound right in this context.
I'll be amazed if any of that makes sense, I've been tracking thru yesterday's DU (slowly!) confirming things.
IMAGICAT
Odin has arrived:
He clearly has the remains of a fish in his foot:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Off he goes:
Perhaps he was after a quiet get together with EJ - it's impossible to know how he feels about her imminent departure. I wonder if they miss each other while they're apart?
Good morning everyone! Good to see the handsome dad flying away with some leftovers. I'm going to catch up now. :-)
Tiger's Osprey News
Hi, Noc!
We have a bird on the nest:
I think it's Seasca:
The cam is zooming in on her:
She is still on the nest and has now started to shout.
FISH, 08:59!! From EJ the Beautiful:
EJ has flown.
She's clearly thinking about flying off:
ODIN with FISH @ 1029hr 1920hr !!!!!!!!!!!
(Misplaced right hand, lol)
Might as well add pics and vid now that I'm in the RF.
I haven't ID'd this elder.
EDIT - Quote BIRDIE NUM NUM "Seasca claimed the fish that Odin brought at 19:20. She waited very patiently for it for nearly two hours, would you believe it".
